new brakes for my 5AT

I'll take better pics tomorrow in the morning after I wash the car. I got the calipers off of ebay. Running stock brembo pads, with stoptech SS lines. Total cost for the front is under 1K.

Re: new brakes for my 5AT

The pedal effort feels the exact same as before, except now I get very minimal if any brake fade. These brakes saved me from rear ending someone the other day when they cut right in front of me on the freeway.

Re: new brakes for my 5AT

I got the calipers off of ebay for under $700. The rotors and the SS lines I just got off online stores. Installation I did myself. It's actually pretty easy to do. You just need someone to help bleed the brakes. I read over the online instructions for installing the Stoptech kit, and it's basically the same.

Re: new brakes for my 5AT

the rotors are stock right? They look alot smaller than the 6mt ones.

Re: new brakes for my 5AT

Good eye. They're not stock, but I couldn't get the 6mt ones to fit without hitting the caliper. They're 12.4" rotors, so they're bigger than stock 5at, but just a bit smaller than the 12.7" 6mt ones. They were also alot cheaper then 6mt ones. $170 for both rotors.

Re: new brakes for my 5AT

Judging by the price, I would say not. I couldn't find any marking on the rotors to indicate whether or not they are brembos. Next time I'll get some 2 piece rotors. Just wanted to get everything up and working for now.
