Shaky car after new wheels?

So I put my rims on about a week ago. I went with a 19" Sevas S-Star. 19x8.5 front, 19x9.5 rears. I used the stock tires. They are not the "proper" size for the wheel but they fit fine. They are a little stretched though.

My problem is this, when I hit 70-80, the car starts shaking like crazy. It used to be a lot worse but I got hubcentric rings (73>66.1) and hoped that would fix it. The car still shakes. I am probably going to take my car back to the tire shop on Saturday to get it looked at. He said it could be a balancing problem.

Could it be a balancing issue? Is it because the tires aren't the "right size"? I am doing perf. mods to my car but if the car is not safe to drive past 70, I need to get this taken care of. Hell, I'll go back to stock wheels if need be. Post up anything you think it might be.

Have your wheels balanced.. again. That is most likely the problem. You could have an 'out of round' tire, that would be bad. But that will show up when they balance the wheels. Good luck.

Will they be able to tell right away if I have an 'out of round' tire? My right rear tire had a nail in it and they fixed it when I got the wheels on. The guy at the tire shop seems to know what he's doing so I dunno

what about hub centric ring?

Your wheels could be off center.

May need to rebalanced, but then again check the tire pressure cause after all you're not going with the proper size tires, so i am guessing perhaps that's were is the problem is.

I checked pressure at the gas station yesterday. Most of the tires were at about 25-28psi. The back right was kind of low, I think it was at 25 or just below. My TPMS keeps going off to. I don't think they fixed the tire properly from the nail.

You should be up in the 30s, around 35. 25 is really low and that why ur TPMS keeps going off.

That's strange. So you had no problem when you had your stock wheels on but now that you changed to 19's, your car shakes. Some people have said that when the tierods wear out, then your car starts to do that... https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sedan-v35-2003-06/150749-vibrating-over-80mph.html
Looks like your lowered on s-techs..how long have you been lowered? Maybe the shocks are starting to give?

Correct, no problems when I had the stocks on. It only started doing it the day after I put the wheels on.

I actually read that thread this morning. I got my car in April, I really hope the tire rods aren't worn out already I don't even have 3500 miles on it yet. My car isn't actually lowered yet, the springs are arriving on the 13th I had (On order) in my sig but I took it out.

Got it fixed today. Turns out it was a balancing issue. Thanks for the help.
