I recently bought 2 Falken FK-451 245/45/18 for the rear. These tires suck, at speeds higher the 65 car feels very unstable the back end seems to wiggle feels very bad while turning to (im thinking the sidewalls are way to week). When vdc is on the slip light pops up on alot lot of the turns i make.

I shoulda spent more on the tires!!

I'm assuming you've checked the alignment & balance of the wheels first before bashing the tire? I'm actually considering this tire for my wheels coming.

I don't think its the tire. I have Falkens and they run great. Moog is right have your damn wheels balanced.

I have falken also (245&275). they are pretty good tires for the money. So far it ride great.

 

Yes my wheels are alignment & balance i it all done at goodyear. Maybee i just need to get used to tires but they dont feel all they great to me this is just my opinion. Sorry i didnt me to affend anyone i was just mad thats all.

 

I've had those tires on my car for about 11k miles now. Haven't had any problems, even under hard driving.

I have these tires also, 245/40/18 for the front and 275/40/18 for the rear on stock 18's, I've had these on for about 2000 miles already on Tein S. Tech's w/o an alignment...I know, I know...I need to get one anyways...I haven't had any problems with it breaking loose real easily even with the VDC off...You might wanna check your tire pressure also, I'm running 35psi front and back per factory specs. I have the Falken GRB's and I think there great. Maybe you just need to get that new rubber off.

Most tire shops like Goodyear, Firestone and the wholesale stores do not provide consistently high quality service, it really depends on the tech who works on your car, their personal experience, and their own personal commitment to quality.

Most likely the vibration you're experiencing is the result of a poorly balanced set of tires. It is possible that the tires may themselves be defective, i.e out of round or something similar, but it's more likely the balancing is to blame.

I think im going to go ahead and get my wheels rebalanced. I hope that does the trick thx for all the info.

 

Might wanna check to see if your wheel is seated properly if you have aftermarket wheels (hubcentric rings). Vibrations are sometimes induced from non-hubcentric wheels. Also, may wanna try increasing your tire pressure to 37 psi? That's what I'm running and the ride is not rough or anything. A guy I know with the same size tirse as mine with a 350Z has his at 40 psi and he said it rides nicely.
