Ive broken 5 wheels studs in the past 2 weeks!?!?

I have broken 5 wheel studs in the past couple weeks.

I had a flat, went to change it and put my stock wheel back on. When i wentr to swap em back, the locks were stuck on there. I broke 2 getting them off . I needed brakes changed anyway so i had the brake check guys toss me some new studs, well they broke 2 more doing that, and replaced all 4.

Yesterday i got a nail in another tire, and swapped a stock wheel on again, (other side of the car) and i broke yet another stud?

I have never done this before on any car, and have swapped wheels n other stuff dozens of times?

How can this be?

I have an 04 sport sedan and currently running 19" Sevas S Star wheels.

jon!

The oem studs kinda suck, Try anti seize on the studs the first time the lug nuts go on, make sure the lug nuts are not bottoming out when being put on, and impact guns are not the greatest thing to use on the lug nuts.

Maybe the lugs are bottoming out. What are you using to take the lug nuts off? The stock one ended wrench or one of those T wrenches?

I know this is a dumb question and I'm not trying to belittle you or anything(but I've seen it happen more times than not), but if you're using the one ended wrench, are you at least supporting the socket/lug end of the wrench with your hand? I've seen people use those wrenches by just working one end of the wrench without supporting the other end and what the end up doing is shearing the lug off. It's actually very easy to do. It's how you steal wheels with locks on them.

do you put on your lugs in a star pattern???

Do you tighten them to the recommended ft/lb tq settings?

Make sure your not overtightening your lugs, and make sure when putting rims on to use the start pattern, not to completely tighten the lugs one at a time....

did you recently have the dealer or a tire store work on your car?

if so, their impact guns might be the cause.

I had a stud break from a guy using an impact gun. Still haven't gotten the damn thing fixed (can't break my rotor free!)
