Many have luck with the Conti DWS and Yoko Envigors. The Conti would do a bit better on snow/ice, the Yoko better dry and steering response. Of the two the Yoko is a tad cheaper. These are both a/s options as that class of tires will be longest lasting.

and either pair would be fine with my oe rear tires? Is there any problems putting an xl tire in the front with my oe rear?

I wouldn't recommend mixing either with the oe tires. Completely different tread compounds and designs. Running an extra load tire on one end and standard opposite of it does happen from time to time. That's not as much of a concern.

Hey Neal.. I am looking to get some new tires, since i am in desperate need of them. I am fairly new to the "Infiniti G" family, and this will be my first time replacing tires since i bought the car 1.5 yrs ago. My tire sizes are 225F/245F40ZR19. I have looked at the Hankook V12's, because of the price (just got laid off, so money is SUPER tight), and reviews.. I looked into some used ones just to get me by, but its hard to find for mine car. there another tire about the same price as those that you would recommend. I live in Va, so we have 4 full seasons, and all types of conditions. Also are you guys running any specials/deals? Thanks for your help...Josh

Hey Neal, I have a 2005 G35x. I drive 70 miles a day highway and not aggressive. I live in Southern California so snow and ice are not an issue. I had a tire blow out and am going to replace all tires. I am looking for cheap tires that are extremely quite and last. I don't drive agressive. They are 215/55/r17

If you see four seasons with these tire, specifically snow, then I would not use the V12's. Those are a sport summer tire only and you'll be in a real bad spot if you put these on snow/ice. I'd look at the Yoko Envigor or new General G-Max AS-03 if used all year. Yoko has been out a bit longer and has a pretty strong following.

Best bet there would Kumho's Ecsta LX Platinum. 60k life, quiet, comfortable, good price wise ($118 ea). Overall a great bang for the buck.

OK, one more question... I am leaning towards the Yoko's, but noticed the Continental ExtremeContact DWS, and they peaked my interest as well... They also come with the tire warranty already in the price. I dont drive aggressive more "normal" driving. Which of those two would give me better treadwear. They are about the same price, and i have read TONS of reviews on both, and both were well reviewed. HELP!....haha

Honestly think you'll end up very close on wear also. Maybe a tad longer and more evenly on the Conti only because of it's asymmetrical tread design allows it to be rotated more traditionally.

Least expensive set in those sizes I have would be Kumho's Ecsta ASX a/s tire. Full set shipped $669.69, picked up $618.18.

Neal,

i need tires for a 98 maxima, 205/65/15. I'm in chicago so much like your indiana winters, we do see SNOW. Looking for a all-season type of tire. Let me get price shipped and picked up/installed. South Bend isn't too bad of a drive.

Best Performance tyre for 19"

G35 has stockish height (coilovers but not lowered much) plus sway bars and has
front: 245/40/19 on 8.5" rim ET 35 (CAN OR SHOULD I GET 255?)
rear: 285/35/19 on 9.5" rim ET 40 (BETTER OF GOING 275 or 295 if i go michelin?)

Tyres i am thinking of are
1. Bridgestone Potenze RE-11 comes in 285
2. Michelin Pilot Super Sport no 285 (295 is $100 each more per tire)
3. Michelin Pilot Sport A/S + comes in 285

I have at the moment Kumo KU31 245 and 285 and dont get any rubbing.
I am willing to roll the guards but want the best performing tyre for mountain runs but id like it to last also for DD. The super sport suppost to last around 30K and the Sport A/S + 40K I live in Goldcoast, QLD AUD so nice any sunner most of the year, no snow, some rain but not much.. Need to buy today or
tomorrow as friend is shipping a container back and i can save on postage .

What do you suggest?
