Can't beat that as I'm at $450 before shipping.

Probably not the best combo to be honest. They have similar designs, but do differ in speed rating and compound. Could give the car a split personality.

Probably the best a/s tire in your size is G-Year's Assurance Triple Tread. Full set installed would run $574.60. Using a random Chi-town zip it would be roughly $525 shipped. $40 mail-in rebate through the 30th on those also.

Sorry, was off over the holiday weekend. PM me your order number and I'll see what I can do.

Nothing really a great match to be honest. The Conti DW would be closer than the 760, but still not exact.

Everything we carry is displayed on our site, so I won't have any alternate options outside that. Sorry.

I bought Kumho LE sports a couple of months ago (about march), finally found time to install it and probaly drove it for about 50-60miles. I was washing the car today and found a bulge on the widewall of one of them. I think its refered to as sidewall seperation.

Is this covered under warranty? How is the warranty process? Do i speak to kuhmo or TR. I talked to my install shop ( small mom and pop shop) and they said i since i didn't by thru them i would have to go to kumho or TR

Kumho covers those against road hazard for the first 25% of wear if bought after 1/1/11. Anyone locally that carries Kumho can help with warranty issues, or you're happy to contact my customer support at 800-428-8355 ext 360.

Bridgestone RE760 & Michellin Pilot SS

Neal,

Would there be any issue putting Michellin Pilot Super Sports on the front and Bridgestone Re760's on the rear of a 2007 G35s in the standard staggered tires sizes. Have been waiting on the RE760 fronts to come off back order and looking for another option. Looking for quiet assymetric tires with good performance and decent tread life.

Thanks

There's really no good answer to the mixing question. You'll upset the balance of the car no matter what you combine, it's just by how much/badly. Super Sports are a much higher performance tire than the 760. I would stick within the same class, speed rating, and asymmetric tread design if you end up mismatching them. Even then we can't predict how the car will handle.

yokohama s.drive out of round

Neal,

I got a set of Yokohama s.drive 225/55/17 for my 08 G sedan and have had constant problems with some of the tires being out of round. One tire has been replaced once (LF), the other tire has been replaced twice and is still wobbly at highways speeds (LR). (All check out OK on hunter road force).

I called today to get the last bad LR tire replaced and Donna said her boss didn't want to ship me any more of these tires, that maybe they're just not a good match for the car. She agreed to let me return all 4 tires if they're 8/32" or greater (pretty sure they are) and start over.

I've had BFGoodrich GForce sport on my '92 Q45 and they were very similar to the s.drive. Is that tire a good choice? Also may consider Kumho Escta SPT. Primarily looking for a summer tire as it rarely snows in Atlanta, but will consider an all-season if it performs well for a reasonable price.

Any advice?

Of the two summer tires mentioned, I would lean toward the BFG. Have had a bit better luck with performance and overall quality compared to the Kumho. In an all season, the Goodyear Eagle GT and Pirelli P-Zero Nero A/S would work well if you see little or no snow.

Thanks... the BFG is on backorder and I need to order now.

So the Pirelli is an all-season which is very close to a summer tire performance-wise?

What about the Firestone Firehawk for a summer tire? Is it grippier than the yoko s.drive? (I've been disappointed in the hardness of the yokohamas).

For a glassy smooth ride on the interstate will the Pirelli and the Firestone (or any summer tire) be much different? (I know I can't have super smooth ride and grip at the same time.... so I'll have to choose one or the other).

The Pirelli is a very good sport all season tire, but won't come near a summer only tire in terms of dry grip and response. You'll get the better ride and slightly better life out of an a/s compared to a summer.

The Firehawk is very very new to the market so it's a bit too early to say how good they will perform long term. The Yoko did better compared to the Firestone in our testing so I'd still lean toward that.

Just to put my $0.02 in; I'm on my thrid summer with Yoko S Drives and rims from Tire Rack. I have 235/50-17's on slightly wider than stock wheels. I love them for the dry and wet stick.
