Hello all from Tire Rack
hey neal, i'm hoping i can get a answer asap. I'm pretty much set on buying 4 19x9 ASA GT5 wheels off trie rack. With 225/40ZR19 XL General G-MAX AS tires. If i'm not mistaking it came out to $1472 which is right about my budget aka "tax return" but i can go with it. Then there is shipping. Is there anyway i can get shipping for free???? i'm really hoping so, because there is another set on discount tire direct for a bit cheaper with free shipping but i would rather go with you guys!
wait idk what happened not 225/40/19 haha, actually what tire size would you recommend for this setup? i may throw like a 10 mm spacer on them too. idk i wanna run pretty flush. id rather have the tires a bit stretched than like fat.
Really like to get your business, but our prices are set and I cannot do free shipping. Owners make the rules and I just have to obey them :-) All of our hardware and mount/balance is no cost and shipping time is typcally 1-2 days.
If this is a sedan I'd look at 245/40-19
Call me direct if you decide to go through us!

I'm biased, i've been a loyal TireRack fan since 2002 and have ordered at least 3 sets of wheels and about 3 dozen tires from them since. The only time i ordered local was when TR was out of a replacement tire for a bad flat.
The tax you pay from discount tire typically ends up being a wash with the shipping from TR. Sometimes you save more with TR, sometimes with DT.
My 2nd to last set of snow wheels+ tires came from TR. I ordered the wheels/tires for the G from DT. I needed the assurance of a hassle free return/exchange in case the wheels didn't fit. The car wasn't delivered until ~2 months later (special order). By that time, I would be past TR's 30 day return.
Now, TR's database is relatively accurate, but not 100%. There is the rare occasion where it says a wheel will fit, but it doesn't. That 2nd to last wheel/tire purchase was one such event.

If for whatever reason we make a mistake on fiment, we'll take back the items past the 30 day window. Things like that are very rare but if it does happen we do not have an issue doing what it takes to make it right.
Neal, thanks for the heads up. I just didn't want to push my luck. It wasn't clear if i'd have the car in 60 days or 120 days. They gave me a time frame of mid dec to late feb.
When I did have the issue with the other wheels, the initial rep I spoke with tried to have me jump through hoops to convince him the wheels didn't fit. He wanted measurements and pictures. Why would I want to spend $500+ more on wheels/tire set instead of just recycling my existing tires onto wheels of same size but different bolt pattern. I eventually told the guy I'm not his R&D dept and to let me speak with someone who can make a decision on this. The supervisor was much more understanding and the issue was resolved.
This incident won't stop me from dealing with TR in the future, but unless I have the physical car in my possession, I preferred not to take any chances second time around.

Where has the Conti Extreme DW 245/40/19 gone?
I am the lucky recipient of a screw on the edge of the sidewall close to where it meets the tread and am in need of replacement. Can you still get them? According to Conti's site they still make them unless that info is out of date.

We do have those in stock and priced at $53 ea plus shipping. Call me when ready!
I have an 06 Coupe w/ "Sport-tuned suspension" and TR pretty much doesn't have anything listed for brakes. I've always bought Akebono ProAct pads for previous cars, I would assume they make them for the G. If not, do you guys sell Hawk pads? Currently NO pads are listed on the TR site.
Also would like to see Centric rotors listed, only Brembo blanks are available.
I went through this with our FX35 and someone was able to update the database since the parts were in stock, just listed under other vehicles.
I just went through the hassle of trying to find two Conti DWS in that size. Apparently the all-seasons are discontinued.
