Neal, I once again need new tires for my '08 G35 Journey (225/55/17). Last time (Oct. 2010) I got Yoko Avid ENVigors at your suggestion. They were fine, except they're worn out after 25K miles. I need something that's going to last longer than that. So far, I'm considering Conti Extreme Contact DWS, Kumho Ecsta 4X, Dunlop Signature II, or maybe even one of the Michelin Primacy (MXM or MXV, I don't know the difference). Which of those would you recommend, or is there something else I should consider (e.g., Falken, General, Cooper, Bridgestone/Firestone)?

The Primacy line would be longest lasting of that list. Touring tires in general will provide better life and ride quality. But you'll trade some sport handling to get it. Of the two, the Primacy MXV4 would be my choice. Better performance across the board.

If sticking with a sport based option, the Conti DWS has been a really popular choice amongst G owners.

Hey Neal, I recently bought some new wheels that already have tires a little stretch. The wheels are 20x9.5 front and 20x11 rear, the tires are 225/35 & 255/35. Im also getting a set of coils to drop the car slightly and my fenders rolled. With that being said what size would you reccomend and a good bang for your buck sport tire? Thanx in advance!

Assuming this is a coupe. Kinda hard really as that's a very wide rear wheel for the car. Largest I show is a 275/30-20, but that won't fit anything wider than a 10". Should at least use a 295 to fit properly, but I can't guarantee for sure that will clear with coils. 295/25-20 is the only one close in diameter and load capacity, possibly 245/30-20 up front.

Unfortunately we do not sponsor individuals or teams. Instead, we sponsor races events from time to time so the group as a whole can benefit.

Just got a set of Enkei GTC01s from Tirerack. Do the stickers on the lip ("Racing prototype") come off easily? Thanks.

Hey Neal, what's the best price you can get me on a set of BBS RGR wheels, 19x8.5F and 19x9.5R?

Haven't ever had issues with the stickers coming off on their own. If you want to take them off, I'm not sure what it would take to do that w/out damaging the finish.

Side-to-side, front-to-back, x-pattern, as long as "outside" is facing out. There is no need to mount/dismount the tire on opposite corners to rotate.

The downside is, because "outside" is always facing out, there's no opportunity for equalizing camber wear.

They can be rotated any position on the vehicle as the pattern is asymmetrical. As long as the word "outside" is facing outward you're good to go.

Neal,
This is a common comparison question but I thought I would throw it out to you. I have an 08 G35x, currently have Sumitomo HTR A/S P01. Like them don't love them. I want a performance AS as I am a spirited driver and will sacrifice a LITTLE comfort and life for performance. I live in the northeast necessitating the need for AS. I have Primacy MXV4 on my wife's Lexus and they're wonderful but don't belong on my G.

Big decision between the Conti Extreme DWS (#1 on your site) and the Mich Pilot sport AWS. Concern with the Contis are the complaints of the soft sidewall.

Any input from your experience would be appreciated. Other considerations etc.

Thanks !!!

if it snows in the area, then get a legitimate winter tires (not AS tires) and legitimate summer tires (not sumitodo or wtvr..lulz). don't settle for the cheapest option.
if you want good AS tires, then go with pirelli. best AS tires i've had for my AWD back in the day.

i don't understand why anyone would be concerned with soft sidewalls on their AS tires..

I would not call $200 pilot sports the "cheapest option". I don't have space to store 4 17" wheel tire combos hence the need for one good UHP AS tire. I do appreciate your input though.
