The Conti would really be your best bet w/out spending that extra on a Michelin. The AS+ works well in light to moderate snowfall, but the Conti has a bit more bite for worse conditions. I think the softness concerns come more from its blockier tread design, not so much their sidewall. The Pirelli Nero AS is similar to the Michelin in that it works well in light to moderate snow. Yokohama Envigor would be similar to the Conti with a tad more responsive handling.

Neal, I appreciate the reply. How are the Contis in relation to the Sumitomos in regards to noise, handling?

No problem! The Conti's are hands down a better tire, in all aspects, compared to the Sumitomo.

Hi Neal! Great to see TR so well represented on a forum... I think you're probably making the company lots of cash... thanks for all that you do!

Need some rubber...

General G-MAX
(2x) 245/35-19
(2x) 275/35-19

shipped to 20136 VA

Also, what do you think about that tire and size? Wheels are 19x9 and 19x10. I live right outside of DC, so we get all 4 seasons. Value is more important to me than performance... my G is an automatic and a daily driver.

Can I order directly from you or should I use the website? Any deals for forum members? Every little bit helps!

Thanks,

CJ

Thanks! Glad to be here

Tire sizes seem fine, no issues there. The General itself has been a great performer for a while now so I have no issues with them. If you see some heavier snow then you may want to look at another option, but they will handle light/moderate accumulation.

I'll pm you a total price. Feel free to call me direct or mention my name online when ordering.

Hi Neal,

Thanks for the info and quote! I'll definitely mention your name when ordering or call you direct... whichever you'd like me to do so you can get some credit : )

Looks like the 19x9/10 option isnt available... so its going to be 19x9.5/10.5... tire calculator suggests the same tire specs despite the slight increase in widths (F 245/35-19, R 275/35-19) Does that sound right? I hope to have the wheels ordered this afternoon, so I'll call you as soon as they're on their way to my house!

Thanks,

CJ

Sounds good!

The 275's will fit 9-11" wheels so a 10.5 is fine.

Hi Neal. I'm somewhat tired being a slave to replacing tires on my stock 2004 G35 Coupe with 54,000 miles.I am the original owner and have proper alignments regularly. I've learned a trick to keep the front tires quiet but with a short tread life and the rear tires lasting longer. I have 235/50/17 Ventus V4 ES H105 on the rears and every 8,000 miles take them off the rims and switch them to the opposite sides. I can get over 20,000 miles out of the rears. The fronts are using the OEM Goodyear RSAs 225/50/17s but only get 14,000 miles with the inside completely worn down. I still have good decent tread accross the rest of the front tires, but the negative camber eats the insides quickly leaving them unsafe. I do 95% conservative city driving. Here is my question. What is the best price for (2) 225/5017 RSAs 93V to 33433 and would I expect to get noise from Hankook Ventus V4 ES H105 if I use them on the fronts once the inside wear (feathering) begins? I know I can get more mileage out of the Hankooks on the front and am willing to also take them off every 8,000 miles and swap them to the opposite sides, but I HATE the roaring noise once the feathering starts. Do you think I will have a problem with the Hankooks with noise? The reason I love the RSAs are they are so damn quiet after 14,000 miles although wearing out so fast and being so expensive. I would appreciated any help or suggestions you might have. Thanks very much.

If I could get a price to 58103 on some Michelin Pilot super sports in

225/40/19 255/35/19

and 245/35/19 265/35/19 that would be great.

If you could throw in a quote for Conti Dw's for the 245/265 as well.

Whats your take on the two? Michelin's far superior?

The more odd the tire wears, and the more wear it has for that matter, the louder it will become. Type of noise will differ depending on the wear.

I'll pm pricing to the both of you.

How do tires become choppy? Should i get my suspension checked out?
I have Hankook tires. I was just checking my tire's tread out recently. I notcied my rear right tire's tread is completely flat on the insides of the tire. All the other three tires are fine. What can cause this? I did alignment few months ago. Should i need to rotate my tires. (I wish we could rotate tires front to back than just side to side since they are one directional.) Should i rotate and balance or just rotate? How much typically rotating on a 2005 G35 Coupe cost?
