Hey, Neil kind of late but I ordered tires from tire rack like two days ago. Wish I would have seen these post earlier. I used the V12 last time didn't like the grip they had. I wouldn't grip on the round. I went with the Michelin N2 pilot, 235-35-19 and 295-35-19. Got any reviews on them?

Largest I would go, and probably the most popular, is 245/45-18. Narrowest that would give a stretch look and still fit is 225/45-18. I'd check out Continental, Kumho's, and Yokohama as the top bang for the bucks. Can get more specific once we decide on a size.

Hey Neal I finally decided on a size for my XXR 521's 18x8.5 +25mm offset, I'm gunna go with 225/45/18 all around so I can show a little rim lip, I think this will look better over getting large wide tires like 245/40/18.

I like the Yokohama S.Drives for under 180 a tire, any other summer tires in 225/45/18 I should take a look at or have gotten good reviews?

Kumho 4X has been a good overall tire thus far. I'd check those out.

I'd keep an eye on those S-Drives and the B-Stone RE760. Both are really good daily driver sport summer tires.

Yup! We take walk-in's and appointments for tire/wheel installations. Typical install is 1 1/2 hrs, have free wifi, and a waiting room. Best to call me ahead of time if you plan a visit.

Hi
I am looking to buy new wheel for this summer and i don't know wich size of tire chose(I am not an expert).so for now I am running stock setup 18inch wheel front is 225/45r18 and rear are 245/45r18 and I am lowered on tein H tech.I want to buy 20inch x 10 rims all around and I would like just a bit of tire strech.

some people suggest me to put 245/40r20 so would it be good?would it affect me speedo a lot? and what brand of tire would you suggest me?(for daily drive)I have general UHP for now and love them

Thanks
Seb

NICE! welcome Neal, how would you compare the michelin super sports to the potenza re050? other than the better treadwear rating. im a tire guy and seriously consider spending the extra money to try new tires. can't wait to get me a new set of shoes for my car haha

You plan on using the same sized tire on all four corners on the coupe? May run into VDC issues doing that. Here are a few cases,

The SS is probably the best tire out right now in that class. 050's a bit dated these days compared to others in it's class. The SS comes with a tread life warranty, rides good, great dry/wet, etc etc. Really can't beat them. It's what 80% of my Porsche customers are buying as well. When ready call me direct!

Neal (or others?) - 2005 G35x sedan with stock wheels @ 215/55/17, we are heading down to Florida next week and switching back to the summer tires for the trip. It might be a good time to order up a set of summer tires for delivery to our rental house in Naples. I've been looking around and it seems the BFG Traction T/A are not available for this car, so I wonder whether the Traction Advantage is generally considered a good choice for this vehicle. I am looking for a moderately priced quiet tire with decent performance. I no longer attack the hairpins as I once enjoyed. I always put dedicated winter tires on in early November so snow performance is not a priority.

Comments? Better choices out there?

A summer only tire really won't be quiet in a touring type way. If you're not an aggressive driver anymore but want to retain a higher speed rated tire, I'd look at Kumho's LX Platinum. It's kind of a sporty touring tire for those that want the comfort/quiet of a luxury tire, but response of a sport tire.

I'd run stagg wheels and go 245/30-20 front and 275/30-20 rear.
