Neal,
Any idea what the difference is between the Michelin Primacy MXM4 vs the MXV4?

The initial tire that came out was the MXV4 as a replacement for many of the Energy MXV4 sizes. They have a lot better overall traction and such compared the older Energy's.

Then they started making the MXM4 which is an addition to the line, not so much a replacement at this point. It is built with their Green-X tech unlike the V4's. That tire contains a sunflower oil infused compound to help increase the wet and snow traction.

So, if you see a bit more snow the MXM4 would be a tad better option, light to moderate snow the MXV4. You typically don't see them both in the same size at the same time, but it does happen. Jury is still out on the MXM4 as it's a very new tire but I've had really good feedback from the MXV4.

Hey Neal, i have a 07 G35 Coupe with Sport package on it's 19in wheels. I'm looking to go down a couple sizes and get a winter setup.

was looking at this:
17x8 MOTEGI RACING MR118 Black Painted x4
225/55R17 Bridgestone Blizzak WS70 Blackwall x4 (all around - not a staggered setup like stock)

Do you think this should work?

The other option is:
17x7.5 Sport Edition A7 Silver Painted x4
225/50R17 Bridgestone Blizzak WS70 Blackwall x2
225/55R17 Bridgestone Blizzak WS70 Blackwall x2 (staggered setup)

Just trying to decided between thses two setups

Neal,

I'm looking for 2x 275/40/19's and 2x 245/45/19's .I'm looking into A/S tires... It rains a lot out here in the PNW, and we get occasional snow. Currently I'm running Bridgy RE050A's.. Here's my top 3 replacements based on internet ratings, what do you recommend?

1. Continental ExtremeContact DWS
2. Michelin PilotSport A/S Plus
3. Yokohama ADVAN S.4

Feel free to recommend anything not on that list. thanks.

Tito

The Motegi's are on backorder at the moment and you can't run the same size all around or VDC will freak. Best to run option two with the Sport Editions. Great wheel and tire, correct sizing. We might be getting another shipment of the 50 series around the end of this month. If we don't it would be best to move into a different tire. Call me direct or mention my name when ordering

Those pretty much sum it up. The DWS will be most versatile with good snow traction, wet is ok, decent wear. Most "Jack of all trades" option. the Mich and Yoko will have better dry traction/response, less a/s traction, similar wet traction to the DWS. Can't go wrong either way really, just depends on where you want to put the focus on
