You might find a fitment that fits, but is it safe? All the specs you need could be correct but may get half the lug engagement you need and the wheel falls off the car. It keeps us sleeping better at night knowing our customers are on proper safe fitments for the wide variety of wheels we have to choose from. I'd rather have someone decide not to buy from us because we don't have what they are looking for that force a fitment we can't confirm is safe in the long term.
Neal,
Thanks Neal - I understand. I remember wondering why your site didn't show me all the tires in my size before, until I realized it restricted tires that did not also meet the load range for my vehicle. I appreciate your detailed reply and respect Tire Rack's taking the "high road" to ensure customer satisfaction. However, I do wish it was a bit easier to find or narrow down custom rim sizes because your site, service and product is great.

Thanks for your help; I'll be ordering Continental ExtremeContact DW's from you in the spring!

Mine is a 2006 Coupe 6MT. Stock configs are 225/40/19 and 245/40/19

I am planning to go for

Yoko S-Drive 245/40/19" for rear

Yoko AVID Envigor (W) 225/40/19" for the front.

How would that work ?? the rears are max performance summer and fronts are ultra high performance all season ?

They both have radial(R) threading so I believe it shouldn't make any difference.

Pretty bad combo actually. Summers front and all season's rear would make the car handle quite odd front/back. Would be even worse in cold temps and when its wet out. Like trying to play basketball with two different kinds of shoes on.

I didn't find 225/40/19 on Yoko S Drive.

How about I go for a 235/35/19 on Yoko S Drive ? My Sidewall is dropping from 3.5" to 3.2" ? My Speedo will be off by 2.3%. But how does it affect my drive ?

The 235's are half inch shorter than the 225's so it's very possible that's enough to trip the VDC.

Neal,

I am looking at getting the Yokohama AVID ENVigor in 225/50R17 (front) and 235/50R17 (rear). What would be the best price you could do for me being a member of G35driver? On line, at tirerack.com I can get them for $561.07 delivered. Can you do any better than this? I am in the Chicago area. Can I pick them up to cut down on delivery charge and tax?

Thank You!

Best I can do is pricing you see online. I'd be happy to place the order for you, or keep an eye on it when placed online with my name referenced.

Hey Neal,

What snow tires would you recommend for 06 GAT? Currently have the Continental DWS all seasons on and I am having a hell of a time with the snow right now. Stock configs 225/40/19 and 245/40/19.

I was looking at the Blizzak LM-60's? Can you beat advertised price, 225/40R19 $216.00 (ea.) & 245/40R19 - $235.00 (ea.) = $902.00

Thanks.

Hey i'm sure Neal will answer you, but just thought i'd share. I was thinking of getting winter tires as well ( 07 G35 Coupe) but decided since i'm getting winter tires, i might as well get dedicated snow tires so i ended up with the Blizzak WS60. We just had about 7 inches of snow yesterday in MD and i drove out this morning with no problems. Couple weeks back we have have as well and again no issues.

Snow tires are great and definitely recommend them.
The Blizzak WS-60 or the new Blizzak WS-70 are great. THis past year however, according to tirerack, the Continental Extreme Winter Contact got first place in the shootout!

The LM-60 are performance winter tires so they won't do as well as snow tires like the WS-60 or WS-70.

Also keep in mind that if the temp gets like above 40-45deg everyday then it's time to switch back to your summer or all-season tires.

Nick,

Do you use a different set of rims for snow tires or swap out summer tires for winter etc using one set of rims?

Not sure if I want to spend the extra money on a set of rims and tires plus cost to put them on. We have been getting a lot of snow past two years in Philly and starting to get tired of digging my car out of ditches. The Conti Extreme DWS I have now are Ok, but think I may need a dedicated snow-winter tire. I would only use them December - March. Thanks for your input!

yea i actually found someone on here selling their winter setup.
I got Rims, Tires, and Sensors for $600 with 4000miles on the tires so it was a good deal! Drove to Delaware to pick them up though. THe rims were ASA JH3.
Check the classified section on here as well. There is a winter setup section. Yea i'm planning on swapping out by end of march as well.
