On a sedan thats fine. Pretty common size to use.

Hey Neal, I have G35x with RSA tires 225/55/R17.. its my first time changing and dealing with tires.. still learning about them.. I am looking for reliable, good performance and long life for my everyday driving and i put on lot on miles/month... tiretrack listed too many different options based on size.. my questions:
1) Do i have to look for the same size as current tires?
2) all the listed tires on tiretrack.com for this size can be fitted on my car g35x without extra adjustments? like i order them and get them installed easily
3) which one do you recommend considering i need long life with tires but no season specific tires?

thanks in advance. sorry if questions sound funny..

If you're not pushing the car every day or a real aggressive driver then I'd stick with the same size. No need to go larger really. All the tires make load and will fit properly, just keep it V speed rated or higher per Infiniti. Good bang for the buck that lots of G sedan owners use is the Kumho LX Platinum. Long life, good wet/all season, quiet, etc.

Hi Neal. Quick question for you. Just picked up an 03 G35 coupe with the staggered 17 inch set up. My rears look pretty shot my front seem to be fairly well off. I'm wondering if I am able to just replace the rears? Also wondering if I need to stick with the Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 for the rears since that is what is on the front or can I go with some Conti DWS for the rear? Thanks!!

Not the best idea to mix those two together. The different performance classes, designs, compounds, etc can cause some really odd handling, especially in wet. I'd buy two more Michelins or a full set of DWS's.

So if I stay in the same category as the MXM4's (Grand Touring All Season) which aren't rated too highly on your surveys, can I go with the Kumho Ecsta LX Platinums just for the rears which are rated higher, less expensive and in the same category as the Michelins? Thanks again!

Would be a step in the right direction, but still can't promise how the car will handle.

Hey Neal, I'm looking for some new tires for my '05 G Coupe with 19's. Once again, my right front tire is wearing on the inside shoulder.

I'm looking at the Hankook Ventus V12's but the rears seem to be back ordered. I have also been looking at the Continental DWS's as well. Which would you recommend?

Also, anyway I can get these shipped for a bit cheaper?

just coming off some ventus v12's lasted about 15k as a daily driver. terrible for rain/snow but they look good. looking at the continental extreme contact DWS's or yokohama avid envigor both have milage warranties most places.

I just dropped $760 for a set of them from a local place cuz they're on national backorder

I need a tire desperately now because the shoulder of my tire is almost down to the chord. I have a set of winter tires that I can use in the winter time. 18" blizzak's with wheels

Neal, do you guys happen to special order rims? There's a specific type I'm looking for but you don't carry them.

Two totally different tires really. The V12's are sport summer, DWS's performance all season. The V12's will have better dry traction and response, but offer no cold weather traction and wear quick.

DWS will ride better, last longer, and offer a/s traction. You'll trade dry grip and steering response for that, however.

Both good tires, just in totally different ways.

Yup, summer only tire = poor in winter conditions.

Unfortunately if it's not a brand we carry I cannot get it.

Hi Neal, So, what do you know about the Dunlop Sport Signature tires, problems if any. I have a set of those on my 07 G35 Sport, 225/50-18 front, and 245/45-18 rear, and the rears are almost worn out after just 10,000 miles, the front's still look like new. I am not an aggressive driver, and stay on top of wheel alignment and balance, and watch my tire pressure closely. I can't believe these tires are worn this much, I noticed the wear after a 1200 mile road trip, last week. I am very disappointed in this tire. I realize there is not a tread wear warranty on them, but for the rears to be so worn, and the fronts to not be is pretty unacceptable in my opinion. Especially since they are rated at 420 UTQG. I got twice the mileage off my original Bridgestone RE050A's, rated at just 140 UTQG. I purchased these tires from your site, through BLVD Automotive in Albuquerque, NM. And I had them recheck my alignment and everything once I noticed the wear, and all is fine. To me, there has to be some issue with the tires to cause such excessive wear. Why do the fronts still look like new? Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. I have never gone through tires this fast on any of the Infiniti's I've owned (3)
Tom

May want to look at the new Yoko Avid Envigor. They are a bit longer wearing compared to the Dunlops and I've had many people move to those from the Dunlops. Lack of rotation options and camber in the rear will help wear tires quicker in the rear.
