Hello all from Tire Rack
Hello Neal,
Im in the market for some new front tires since I've already replaced my rear a few months ago. I own a sedan on the coupe 19 wheel with my car lowered(still sitting on neg. camber).
When I did change the rears out, I went with BF Goodrich's g-Force T/A KDW NT (the crazy tread design)....and I'm very please with the feel and look these tires gave the wheel.
Heres the question I have....I'm having issues finding the stock "225/40-19 89Y" tire size that the coupe 19s run stock.... I really would like to get these tires for the front since I don't really want to mismatch the look. is there any other sizes that these BF GoodRIch's g-Force T/A KDW NT that I'd be able to use?
I know they have the tires in 215/35ZR-19 85Y
225/35ZR-19 88Y
235/35ZR-19 91Y<--maybe this one?(over 89y)
245/35ZR-19 93Y<--(doing research after posting and this size seems to be better then the one above which i thought would be better) just hope it doesnt effect VDC
Are any of these wheel sizes comparable?pros?cons? of switching the size. (I know the stock size seem to be a LITTLE stretch but not crazy like alot of aftermarket wheels

Neal, thanks for being on the board. Will you please tell me if their is a wider footprint tire I can use on the rear AND front on my 06 sedan with 18" wheels? I don't want to run a staggered setup. Thanks!
Do you know what the limit is on change in outside diameter before VDC gets confused? I ran those sizes through a calculator and its .9% larger in the front and 1.5% smaller in the rear overall, maybe I'm underestimating the senestivity. Assuming I keep my 20mm spacers on the car all year, the 40mm offset gets turned into an effective 20mm on those wheels I listed, that should be pleanty of room to clear the caliper, no?
Thanks for the input Neal, but after about 2 hours of stating my case, the Firestone manager gave me new tires, although he removed my lifetime alignment package. (I didnt want to get it aligned there anymore anyway) But where do you recommend I get my wheels aligned from now on? Thanks.

Most common is 245/45-18 all around. Will fit the wheels fine as well.
neal sorry for been a pain in the butt but... with that size going on the front (8 width) isnt the rubber gonna not sit flush with the rim? its gonna kinda pop out?
The reason I ask this is because i have 245/40 in the rear (8.5 width) right now with this BF Goodrich KDW t/a 2 and every though its stock size..it sits more meater looking then the bridgestones did.(make sense?) aka flush. no stretch or slight even.

The RS-A is an average tire at best really. May want to check out the Yoko Envigor or B-Stone G019 Grid. Both will give 45-50K miles, better wet/dry, better a/s traction, etc. If you didn't have any complaints on the RS-A then these should knock your socks off.
Thanks
Thanks

Will do! But what's your zip code?
The half inch diff (1/4" on either side) will really not be noticeable. If you were moving to a 9" or something like that you'd notice it more.
Super! Thanks for the order and let us know how you like them

Hi there.. have a question for you ... im in the process of order rims for my G... and wanted to get a head start on choosing the right tires.. The specs on the rims are as followed...
Front: 20 x 9.5 et 0
Rear : 20 x 10.5 et 0
Now i am aware that i will need a camber kit and will need to do fender work to accomodate the size.... also i will be dropped on bilstein pss10 coilovers as well.. not looking for that crazy drop either.. (will have room between fender and tire since i tend to have passengers in the back ever so often).. I am also aware that i will need to stretched my tires as well.. not a prob.. now here is the problem i am facing..
* Choosing the right tires to accomodate a good enough stretch ?
* Choosing right tire size that doesnt through the vdc r slip off ( 275/30 or 35) ??
Any inputs ..

Best combo will probably come from 245/30-20 and 275/30-20. Decent selection of summer and all season based tires in them. However, the 245's are really designed to fit at max a 9" wheel, so you'll get a tad stretch trying to mount it to a 9.5. Can't guarantee that will seat properly.

I have a 2008 G35XS with stock 18'' sport rims with Dunloop SP Sport Maxx A1-A A/S Tires (225/50 18). I will be needing new tires soon and I want quiet tires (bc I use the car bluetooth a lot) with great handling in the winter and the summer. I was thinking to go with the Michelin Primacy MXM4. I live in southeast Michigan, so the weather varies a ton, but I just want one set of tires for the entire year. Any recommendations? Thanks in Advance
