Neal,

Well it looks like you're still checking this thread so I've got a question for you. I have an '07 G5 sedan with staggered wheels: front 18x7.5 225/50/18, rear 18x8.5 245/45/18. The front size makes it a pain in the *** to find a set of four tires. There are few manufacturers who make that size. So I'm wondering what other sizes would fit on the front without issue. Would 245/45/18 work on the front?

Looks like you could run the 245's all around. Will fit the wheel fine as well.

[QUOTE=neal@tirerack;5328645]All season or summer only?

All season tires best combo of price, treadwear and performance for a 2007 g35 sport sedan. Also what would a good setup be for 19 inch tires?

Gotcha.

Best bang for the buck in the oem size would be Yoko's Avid Envigor. Great Jack-of-all-trades tire. Does a bit of everything. Yoko's Avid Envigor

Alternate size that would fit is 245/45-18. In that size you have the Conti DWS and Envigor again.

Typically we would look at 245/30-20 front, 275/30-20 rear for a coupe. However, those are wider wheels than what those tires can handle and I really don't have a size recommendation to provide for wheels that wide.

Those are 18x8's 45mm offset only at the moment for sedan fitments.

New tires for G35X

Tirerack guy,
Can you recommend replacement tires for a 05 G35X? - standard size (215/55-17) tires. I prefer road comfort, very good wet traction and braking, and low noise as main criteria. Also need decent traction in light, occasional snow. Mileage and high speed cornering ratings are not as important.

On the car now are GY Eagle ResponseEdge on rear and Hankook V4 ES on front. Unfortunately , the previous owner had done this. Surprisingly, the performance of these tires has been OK, except awful in light snow even with AWD.
Thanks!

Hey Wannabe6mt,
I put the Extremewintercontacs on my X last winter. Great winter tire. Good ride and fantastic grip in snow and on ice. Very confidence inspiring.

I haven't checked the wear yet. I measure the tread depth when I put the tires on in the fall. I put about 5-6K miles on last year. I'll try to remember to check the tread tonight. I don't remember them being loud but I usually have the radio turned up, LOL.

I have to back this up for the coupe. I live in KC and at one point we went 3.5 months with snow on the ground, it rains a LOT, and i LOVE traction, so when i got the DWS i was extremely surprised to have better 60' times at the track than my KDW2's, the ability to leave my garage in snow (got stuck in my own driveway last time), and drive quick on the highways in the rain with no worries of hydroplaning. Not to mention they are SILENT! Literally zero noticeable noise through H-tech springs and stock shocks.

-Kevin, bought from tire rack, love them

after 5000 miles im at 0 noticeable wear (via tread depth meter)
