hi Neal

I have a 06 G35X w/ stock 215/55 tires on 17x7 rims.

I wanted to go with 20x8.5 rims w/ a +38mm offset all around. what size tires would you recommend? this is my DD and I mostly do city and some hwy driving.

do i have to lower my ride to reduce the fender gap? I don't want to look like i'm off roading :P

any help would be appreciated

cheers
Ash

Only size we show to work properly is 245/35-20 which will fit the car and wheels fine. They will have just about the same outside diameter as the stock 17's, so the wheel gap should not be anymore/less. Only proper way to close wheel gap is by lowering the car with springs.

hey Neal!

I have an 06 g35x and i am in need of new tires! I was looking into the yokohama stypes. Any opinions or other tires you think i should look into? I drive up and down the coast about 8 times a year, and spend some time in the snow but only about one month a year. Thanks!

Neal,

A month ago I ordered from you a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport in 245/45/18. I just wanted to inform you and everybody here that these tires are just what I was looking for. A very quiet tire with great road feel. I come off a set of Dunlop Direzza DZ101 that were noisy from the get go and got worse as the tires wore down.

Anybody looking for quiet summer performance tires need to take a look at the Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport. Read the reviews at Tire Rack on this tire, it is rated #1 in it's category of over 25+ tires.

Thanks Neil.

What tire sizes would work for a set of 20x9 (front) 20x11 (rear)?

What size are you using? Need an all season or summer only?

Best front would be 245/30-20. As for the rears... that's a bit wider than we normally see for the car. Best I could say is 295/30-20 for an 11" wheel. Can't guarntee fitment on those rears though.

If u gotta 20x11 wheel U should first look into ur offsets then shoot for tires and lowering ur car to fit them...

Ive seen coupes runnin 315 rears tires, even a sedan with 305
Look into offsets first.

Probably closest thing to a street track tire you can get. Awesome dry traction and steering response. Really can't think of a better tire w/out going to a full blood race tire.

Could use 225/55-17 or 235/50-17, however, lots more to choose from in the 225 size.

Hi Neal,

I have a 2007 G35 Sport Sedan, and I am looking for brand new tires. I am looking something that has the best combination on price, performance and tread wear. Also, how much of a variance on size can I use on the stock sport rims? Any suggestions is appreciated!

It's actually a good thing that Tirerack is not stocking these tires in your size. They're doing you a favor. I currently have these tires on my car and they are absolutely THE WORST set of tires I have ever driven on (my own cars, rentals, or friends' cars). They have horrible dry and wet traction. Each turn is a new adventure because you don't know how much the tires will skid.

These tires may be ok for a Corolla, but they can't handle any Infiniti. Also, at ~$150 each, they are a complete rip off. They perform more like $75 tires. Heck, I had H-rated tires on an old Camry that did better than these Hankooks.

No offense to Tirerack, but you have to realize not all the tires you sell are gems.

Buying these tires were just a mistake and I can't wait to get them off my car. Save yourself the heartache and go with any other tire.

We've expanded the size offerings for that tire since the initial post. None taken. If it's a junk tire I'll let you guys know.
