Sorry '07 G35 Sedan. I'd like to stick with the 245/45/18's all-around.

Thank you.

i currently have blizzak in 225/45-18 already installed on the front, and I was going to purchase the size 225/50-18 on the rear for non-stagger setup. its definitely cheaper than
going with common size of 245/45-18 and i dont mind about having look of slim tire in the back and losing performance due to not being staggered setup (10 + in. snow in chicago during winter makes you forget about performance, but only safety)

so
front 225/45-18
and
rear 225/50-18

on 18 x 8.0 wheels on all corners shouldn't cause any problem as far as ABS/VDC or other possible cause?

the rear 225/50 setup is only .7% difference from oem setup of 245/45.

thanks in advance!

Summer options I'd look at that can be rotated are B-Stone RE760, Sumitomo Z-III, and Conti Sport 3.

Of the A/S tires check out Conti DWS, G-Year Eagle GT, and Dunlop Sport Sig.

All of those are asymmetrical in design and can be put any location on the car.

Ok gotcha. Well, a 225/50-18 has the same overall diameter as your 245/45-18 rear so I don't see a VDC issue with it. They will also fit the stock 8" wheel. However, there are no LM25's in the front size left, as it's a discontinued tire, so I can't recommend that setup due to mixing the two models made in that combo.

although diameter is off by 0.2, i guess it should be fine. i am not too excited about front set being different from rear set.

I'll think about it.

thanks!!!

That's great! Thank you for the leads. Glad to know the Sumitomo's can be x-rotated without dismounting. That'll solve my dilemma of having a daily set-up that can be used on the track and still be able to x-rotate easily.\

edit: Hmm... the pic of the Sumi's show "outside". Does that mean it does have to be dismounted and flipped if i x-rotate?

Neal, I have a 2006 g35 coupe with the Sport Package (oem 19"s) When I checked tirerack it doesn't seem that any 17" packages are available but when looking up a sedan I get pleanty of results. It seems that the offset and bolt pattern are all within spec and the outside diameter should be close enough, is there any reason I can't go with the following:
Sport Edition F2
Size: 17x7.5
Offset: 40mm
Backspacing: 5.91"
Bolt Pattern: 5-114
Rec. Tire Size: 215/55-17 -

I was planning on pairing them with Blizzak WS70s in 215/55/17 at all 4 corners. I know the diameter in the back will be a little bit off but I'd prefer the square setup. I also have 20mm spacers installed at all 4 corners that I don't plan on removing. Even with those I should still be more tucked and have pleanty of clearance on the strut side.. Am I missing something?? Thanks.

Alignment

Hey Neal, just yesterday I was driving home from work and suddenly my tire popped. When I pulled over to look at it I noticed that the inside of the rear driver side wheel was completely shredded, the passenger rear was shredding as well, just not as bad. These tires (Falken ziex512) are pretty new, less than 5k on them. I got my alignment done at Firestone after buying the tires and cant help but think that if Firestone screwed up my camber or tow. Also of note, occassionally when I would make turns the slip control would turn on even though it was not a sharp turn. So I am thinking that Firestone should be liable for this because they did not properly align my car right? Please let me know how I should approach this situation, Thanks. By the way I am at work right now and are probably going there after.

As long as the outside is facing outward all is good. They don't need to be dismounted as no matter what side of the car they are on outside will always be facing outward.

Perf winters are lesser aggressive and work best in low snow climates or areas where you see plowed roads majority of the time. Handle dry better but won't work as well in harsher/deeper snow/ice.

If you see that kind of depth in the winter then studless is what you'll want. The more aggressive pattern with the better winter compounds.

Yeah, not sure why it's not showing. I'll have them update it online soon. The ones you listed have too high an offset and will hit your brakes. The Sport Edition A7, Moda EB1, and Sport Edition KV5 are the three most economical ones we have in 17".

Can't run the same diameter all around due to VDC issues. You'll need a 225/50-17 front and 225/55-17 rear as I ran on mine. Works great and no computer issues.

Call me direct if you would like to explore the options.

Hard to say why it popped honestly. If it was shredded on the inside and it failed suddenly I'm suspecting it was driven on with so low pressure (more than likely w/out you knowing as you're in the car) that it built up heat, failed, and shredded suddenly.

Only way to know if the car is out of alignment is to get the oe specs and get the car back on the rack to see where it's set now. If the car is all stock then it should be set to factory specs.

A local shop here did rear alignment wrong and I blasted through a new pair of rears in 4k due to the toe being way off. But my tires didn't go flat, they just work perfectly even across the tread. Will be hard stating a case if the tire blew out and shredded.

Do you know what the limit is on change in outside diameter before VDC gets confused? I ran those sizes through a calculator and its .9% larger in the front and 1.5% smaller in the rear overall, maybe I'm underestimating the senestivity. Assuming I keep my 20mm spacers on the car all year, the 40mm offset gets turned into an effective 20mm on those wheels I listed, that should be pleanty of room to clear the caliper, no?

Thanks for the input Neal, but after about 2 hours of stating my case, the Firestone manager gave me new tires, although he removed my lifetime alignment package. (I didnt want to get it aligned there anymore anyway) But where do you recommend I get my wheels aligned from now on? Thanks.
