Hey guys, It's time for new tires and I need help.
Right now im running 18x10 wheels with a 245/40 F and 245/45 R

I want to lower the rear a little more some I'll probably drop down to a 40 series in the rear.

I don't want it to look the same all around so I'm thinking of doing a 225/40 up front and a 245/40 in the rear. I'm not SLAMMED .. yet .. but I am pretty low I guess.

My question is will 225/40 look TOO stretched for my height ?

BTW i think it is important that I mention I am probably going to run a 20mm or 25mm spacers to be at +5/+0 offset.

225/40 will look like **** at your current height. You can run a 255/40 in the rear so they dont look the same, but i wouldn't go any smaller than a 245/40 with the way your car sits now.

I just realized I may have no idea what I am doing... I am new to driving something other than cadillacs, trucks, and cadillac trucks... Please dont judge me I have wanted a G35 for a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time ever since i rented one... well not just one about 12. The first time i drove one i was in love. Anyway. I have an 03 black sedan and was looking to black it out and debadge it and start making some incremental motor mods in hopes of getting her in the 320+ hp range.

My current question(s) is this:
I am looking at some Enkei LF-10 wheels black with either the black or the red caps on them.

Front: 20x8.5 Offset=40 Tires=235/45
Rear: 20x9.5 Offset=40 Tires=275/30

will these fit on a completely stock vehicle? I am not looking at lowering the suspension anytime soon and if I ever do it will be minimal... 2" tops. Any potential clearance issues what so ever?

I dont fully understand the whole offset thing. The stock photos show that these will be somewhat of a deep dish... would that still be the case with a 40mm offset? I am prefer the look of a deep dish look in the rear.

Any other advise or words of caution anyone has would be great. Will I need wheel spacers? Are spacers mostly because you need clearance between the wheel and the brake components?

Thanks in advance!

You will be fine with those offsets. They will sit more flush than the stock wheels, but you wont have and fitment issues. I would roll the fenders just to be safe.

If you are looking to increase the HP that much I would save a little money and pick up a used supercharger. Making power on these cars N/A is very expensive and you will probably spend more trying to get 320hp N/A.
With a supercharger you will save money and have a lot more hp.

OK TRODDER!!!!

With those offset and wheels with you won't need to roll your fenders because your wheels are going to be tuck in the fender....Now if you get some spacers then you will need to roll your fenders to get flush to the outer part of the fender...

In this cars you will will probably never need spacers to clear out the brakes, only if you got a really low offset....

Example:

i get a 20x9 with a 35 offset FRONT 20x10 REAR with a 40 offset i wont need to roll my fenders neither because the offset is so high that will tuck the wheels inside.....Now we always recommend to roll your fenders because is more safe and if you change your rim someday with a lower offset and to a higher width you already have them roll.....

Now something else, If you really like those wheels go with them but if you really want to go staggered i will recommend you to go 20x9 or 20x8.5 front and 20x10 or 20x10.5 rear it will look much better.....this cars look hot from the back with a wide tire.....

I think you where right about the offset of the wheel bro it will actually go inside 5/8 inside so it will be 5.5 less 15mm is 4 7/8 inches.

okay... I think I have figured out exactly what the fender rolling is all about... I may look into finding someone in the Minneapolis area that has an actual rolling tool that would rent the tool to me or do it for a reasonable cost.

Thanks for your help fellas!

Can someone tell me how 19x8.5 +30 / 19x10 +38 with 245.40.19 front and 275.35.19 rear would look and work on a G35X (no drop yet).

I think I have the wheels and tires setup so they are the same circumference (or very close), which I have been told is ideal for AWD.

I am looking for an aggressive offset, but don't want to have to roll my fenders if I decide to do a small drop in the future.

Does everything look like it would work fine with the AWD? I used the tire calculator: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html and it seems like it would be close to stock tire size.

Thanks

Chris

Those tires should be fine. As far as the offset goes, you will need to roll your rear fender to clear the 10 + 38.
I would also recommend a drop because your already high sedan will look like a lifted sedan as soon as you add those wheels. It will look very odd.
If anything pick up some OEM 350Z or G35 coupe springs to lower your car a bit and fill in that fender gap. I have a set of 350Z if you are interested.

Thanks- I'm really not interested in rolling my fenders.. Am I better off just ordering all fronts? 19x8.5 +30 with 245.40.19 ? I love the idea of staggered wheels, but with the AWD I am a bit concerned (read a lot of mixed opinions), and I really don't want to have to worry about my fenders.
