If I decide to go with wider wheels but keep the same offset, will that add width to the inside and outside of the wheels evenly?

For example, if I have 8 inch wide rims and swap to 10 inches while keeping the same offset, will that add an inch evenly to both the inside and outside?
yes

Question about correct offset to get removing spacers for new wheels

Hi I was curious I’m trying to get a understanding of my situation so I have a 2005 6mt and I bought some bbs lm reps and the set I got was 20x10.5 et20 squared. It did not sit the way I wanted it to so I got 20mm spacers which then pushed it out perfect where I wanted in the rear. I had the spacers in the front but my drive wasn’t the greatest so I removed them. I think I like the et20 from the front wheels as they sit but my rears I have 20mm spacers so what et would I get with the new set of wheels if I could don’t them with the offset that you guys come up with.

Im on a set of bc coils I am running some camber for rear tire to tuck a bit since I have it so low I’m just trying to find out what I tell them for custom offsets whatever wheels I decide to have built based on my set up now just without spacers but same exact Fitment.

Thanks in advance

Whatever offset you have now, subtract 20 more. So if your offset is +20 you need a 0.

Question Are these tires good?

Hello, I live in NY and I was thinking about getting Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ , I want a tire that will handle like a charm in dry conditions like a summer tire and will be able to tackle light snow even though I don't plan to drive my car much in the snow. Should I just get a summer tire instead and not drive in the snow at all? Also, I want a wider look in the rear. What tire size can I fit in the rear to have a more aggressive look. I'm on all stock suspension.

I'm looking at a set of winter wheels/tires with square 215/45/18's. I think they are 8" wheels.

the fronts should fit fine at -1.83% diameter, but it looks like the rear will be -4.29%.

This is too large of a difference for VDC right?

I just want to run 18's for winter and these are local and super cheap lol. They won't look the best.

if I’m understanding correctly in my experience the only time my vdc has a issue was when I attempted to run a 30 series in the front and a 35 in the rear the vdc caught that my wheel were turning a different amounts so I was getting vdc every time I tried to drive.

The only thing the vdc cares about is if the rolling diameter of the tires F/R exceeds 3%. If you get a 3% difference or greater you'll have issues but since you'll be square with all 4 the same size you're cool. VDC doesn't give a rat's azz how far away from stock diameters you get as long as you follow the 3% game. (If that's what you're asking.)

Max width tires and wheels suggestions for 2005 sedan

Due to a future LSx swap I'm looking to fit the widest tires I can with a fender pull on my sedan. Looking at 255 or 265 front and 285 rear on custom 19s. Need to know what offsets would work and how aggressive of a pull I would need. Looking to only drop an inch all around at most. Looking at these wheels.

Thanks in advance for the help.

If that is your car are you running spacers behind the wheels and what are your current offsets? I've never seen an 18X8.5" wheel on a coupe that flush in the front that didn't have an offset close to 0.

I need some advice on what kind of lowering springs to get.there is about a 4-5 finger gap from the tires between the front fenders, and a 3-4 finger gap for the rear fenders. I feel like its a bit high, what kind of springs should I get to seem normal? my 06 sedan is on stock springs and tires.

"Normal" varies from person to person. You need to decide on how much you want to lower the car then go from there to find springs that will fit your goal. An inexpensive option is to go with coupe shocks/springs which will drop your car ~ 1/2" or 350Z shocks/springs which will drop your car ~ 1". There's extensive material on here about dropping a sedan, read through the stickied threads in the brakes/suspension sub-forum to decide what you want. Here's a great thread to start with: https://g35driver.com/forums/brakes-...w-updates.html
