will 245/45/18 stop my rubbing ?

Ok i'm preparing for the end of the summer ( if summer tires come really cheap) or next summer, it doesn't matter

I'm running a 2005 g35x sedan with 350z track edition wheels.

Wheels are F: 18x8 +30 and R: 18x8.5 +33

Wheels are pretty much flush and i'm running a 1inch drop all around on full z everything . I'm currently experiencing slight rubbing. I loaded 5 people in my car and i heard some rubbing when i hit a dip in the road. I'm getting the fenders rolled and getting an alignment shortly.

Since i'm an AWD i would like to attempt to get similar tire profile to avoid my AWD light and possibly excessively damaging my car. I'm running staggered right now but the profiles match. I would keep the same but the rubbing making to switch it up. I'm open to running same sizes all around as well.

Here is my homework:

STOCK tires 215/55- 17 = 26.31in diameter

Current tires are
235/45/18 =26.327
265/40/18 =26.346

I've attempted and FAILED with
225/45/18 = 25.087

At this point thoughts of STFU and run 235/45/18 like i'm suppose to do has come to mind but i honestly fell in love with these BIG tires and how PLANTED my car feels on them. in terms of traction i dont know too much. I love how the car feels overall.

a 245/45/18 is 26.68 i'm considering this as well

Are they any tire combos i'm not thinking of?

i don't understand, if you are getting your fenders rolled, why do you even need to change the tire sizes? 265 is too wide for a 8.5" wheel anyways

first thing would be, i dont think fender rolling will prevent me from rubbing.

And 2nd is i understand 265 is too wide for 8.5 hence why i'm exploring other options, but a 255 doesn't match up with a small size tire so i cant run it staggered. Hence why i'm looking at 245 all around.

I was told that the sidewall was the main reason why i'm rubbing and i should aim for something in the 35 series.

225/45-18 F = 25.97" or 26"
255/40-18 R = 26.03" or 26"

I'm considering this setup for the Coupe 18's on my AWD. Very good tire selection and they're very, very close to equal sizes. The 255 will barely fit on my 8" wheel, but would fit perfectly on your 8.5". But I also like a beefy tire, and I can't rotate these, so it's really my 3rd option.

I'd like to do 235/45-18's all around, but the selection is so **** poor. Toyo Proxes 4, Toyo T1R, and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S is pretty much it for decent tires. The Vredestein Sessanta comes in that size too, but I don't know if I like those tires. The T1R's and the Michelins are pretty expensive.

I'm also thinking about 245/45-18 all around. Very good tire selection but I'm concerned about the front tires sticking out too far. I'm currently running the Coupe tire sizes with the AWD fuse pulled, but I don't like doing that. This weekend I'm going to move one of the rear 245/45's to the opposite front so I can see 245's in both front and rear (no driving obviously). If it looks OK, I'm going with this size all around.

I'll get some pics of the 245's and post them up here. I'm not dropped at all, so you'll have to extrapolate on that.

I have the same wheels!!!!!!

where are you rubbing? front or rear?

I just placed an order on 265/40/18 Michelin pilots (expensive) for my rear, I hope I didnt just make a mistake.

I ran 245/45/18 all around fine......no rubbing what so ever!

Here a pictures of the rear with fenders slightly rolled.....gonna get it fully rolled flat soon.

I custom made these caps myself.

I dremeld off the nissan emblem, filled the holes with bondo, had it painted.....then designed the logo in photoshop, went to the vinyl shop and got these rays logos made. Stuck the vinyls on, and clear coated over it.

It was a long process but as you can see the end result is worth it

btw I sold the 245/45 all around to my best friend for his maxixa so my new tire size I'm trying on my setup is

245/40 front and 265/40 rear. I'm having my fenders fully rolled so the stagger should look nice on it.

very nice on the caps.

pending on what your dropped on, fender rolling should cover it, I think i was rubbing on pass side inner, where the EVAP lines and fuel filler neck was, not 100% just check that point, the driver side was clear.

G Sedan, setup looks nice, so do the wheels. I'm jealous of both of you.

What tires are you going to run in the front if you just ordered Michelin Pilots for the back? And which specific Pilots?

Great, now I'm double jealous (or is that quadruple?). My tires aren't in yet at the shop that's installing them for me. I'm getting Bridgestone RE760 Sports. Where'd you get them?

G sedan, when you mount these tires on, please tell me if they feel any diffrent. I went from stock to 235/265 setup and the car feels completely planted and i love that feeling. Its like the car hugs the road. A lot better feeling the lowering the car. Anyways let me know how this feels compared to the 245's

Most likely i'm going to be doing the opposite of what you are doing.

your wheels look 10 times better then my mines due to the color, is that a polished lip too?
