Is there any difference other than RS spring rate is 8 and the II is 9. It seems that on the HKSusa website they dont even have the II's available and on the HKSJP website they dont offer the RS. Weird. Is maybe the RS just the US version of the II? I really have no clue can someone shed some light for me. Gsedan35??? TIA

they are basicly the same, just different model, I have both suspensions on my IS300 and G35. same feeling...

I had a conversation with HKS USA on the RS and asked if they were the same as the JDM LS+ for the Z33. I was told no, that the RS is it's own product, developed specifically for worldwide consumption.

The RS coilovers are not designed to go to the high compression and rebound specs that the II's are built to do (II specs are published on their site in Japan) 1Kg spring rate changes can be felt on this platform. I recently installed springs to test that went from 314/342 to 358/375, which is less then a 1Kg change and you can tell the springs are stiffer. Was it a "whoa" type of change, certainly not but you do know you went stiffer.

Having seen the II dampner specs, I would avoid them and purchase the RS coilovers instead, unless you have specific designs on dedicated track work, and even then I'd hope specific testing is the driving force to go with the II's.

Does anyone have more detailed info on the RS coilovers besides what's printed up on the website?

Skylineii: can you give any feeback/review based on your experience with them on the street/track?

I will recommand you to get RS, designs perfect for daily drive. Feels even more comfortable than stock, not so stiff, but for track racing, not enough.

I recently installed the RS... I love the ride... Feels so much better than when I just had springs... I have the coils at it lowest setting and the ride is still excellent...

so those with the hks rs do you feel that they are stiff enough for the weekend drives in the mountains and along the backroads. Or would it be lacking??

yea i want something stiff for back roads mountain drive and auto x but also need it durable and comfort enough to deal with Boston's Big Dig

I recommend to search on my350z.com, you will find a couple of good review's on the coilovers. I don't recall ever hearing about noise issues.

Performance wise the RS is a better product. The CS tow's the line in being a comfort ride suspension in the valving Tein set them to. The RS use's slightly stiffer spring rates and valving rates. Get the CS if comfort is the most important thing, and performance is not much of a factor.
