I just don't feel the need to spend 4000 on rims

ALl I need is a loud-*** exhaust/engine and some fat meats out back

I guess I should get a mullet and just go drop a 451 into Trans Am

After almost 7500 miles on them - THEY ROCK! Quiet, grip all the road they can get! Wearing perfectly even. The wet traction REALLY surprised me - it's incredible!

If someone does it for the looks as well, it still looks like crap because of the conservative stock offsets.

And omg, that guy that put 315's on his G. What is this, a Viper?
I'm surprised that you said this Finiti... quite surprised... after all, the guy does autocross his car frequently. He also did the right thing by widening his rims significantly before upgrading to such a high width tire.

He just wants more performance and doesn't care about the bling... or he likes the stock bling as it is...

First of all, my comment wasn't really directed to the guy with 315s, more to a couple of other members in this thread. Second, you can't talk about performance and putting 25mm spacers and 275 tires on a 7.5" wheel in the same sentence. Third, with the money spent on various spacers, rim widening, etc, one could very easily buy an inexpensive set of dedicated autox wheels. Widening is a much better idea than the 275 on a 7.5" setup, especially since he's FI, but again are 315 really needed to regain traction, especially on a wheel that's only 10.5" wide? Same idea as running 275s on a 7.5".... I don't see why 285 or 295 isn't enough, unless a car is putting down 550 to the wheels or something. Invest in a better quality tire instead?

i have a question as to whether or not anybody has gotten the nismo lm gt4 for the g. i'm sure there are people who have gotten them. i also want to know for tracking purposes, would it be a smart idea to go from oem 19" to the nismo 18"? if we're talking about rotational inertia, the size of the rim would matter correct? also, i used the tire calculator and found that you can utilize 255/40/18 in the front and 275/40/18 in the rear. let me know how this setup is when we're talking about going from 19" to 18". thanks!

He went from 7.5inches to 10inches. Like I said I like the stock look.
Once its all done I'll take pictures & give my report.

As for offsets, I'll need a caculator to figure it out.

Right now I have 25mm H&R spacers on my rear wheels. I measured the clearance of the back of my tires, they're about 3in from any obstructions(suspension stuff)

So I figure 2 inches wider on my rims will still give me enough space underneath.

I love the spacers. They bring the tires out to fill the wheelwells just right. IMO!
Wait, didn't you get you're wheels widened at Weldcraft wheels?

ya, the quote you're referencing was from when I was still in the research phase. My wheels are still fine.

to add to the tire questions....
would 245/45/18 & 275/45/18 work (on stock wheels)?
this may be a stupid question....i know nothing about wheels.

Updates???

Currently have my stock setup: 225/40/19 Front & 245/40/19 Rear

I need new tires and I have car lowered about 1 inch.

So for their new tires, did you all just rebuy your stock setup or did you go 245/35/19 Front & 275/35/19 Rear?

If you went with the larger setup, was their a noticeable "drive" difference?

245/35/19 Front & 275/35/19 Rear are the right sizes to go with for the stock 19's.

Not it's not - His wheels are too narrow for such a wide tire in back with a 35 profile. But, I bet you already knew that. However, 265/35/19s would just squeeze on.

Lou - You'll have this argument for the rest of your life with everyone.

HOWEVER - if you go to Tirerack.com and check for alternate sizing recommendations, they will agree that the 245's and 275 are right ...as well as most tires shops.

Thanks for the pics. You have helped me make up my mind about what size to go when I replace mine. Do you have 245/35/19's in the fronts?

No argument here, just fact. You want to ignore Manufacturer's recommendations, and squeeze a tire on a rim it's not meant to carry. Go ahead. But as the pictures above show, there is tire bulge. This is not safe.
