Tire warning light on, but PSI is OK?

I have a 2004 coupe with aftermarket 20s. I installed the original Tire Pressure Sensors on these 20s from my stock wheels and have had no troubles in the year since they have been on. The other day the light and buzzer came on, so I checked my tire pressures. All tires were where I run them, about 36 PSI. What's up? Anybody have this experience?
Thought I would check here before heading to the dealer.

I guess you might check with the dealer. One of the sensors may be bad.

Yeah, that is my plan, but I wanted to check here first so if I got the run-a-round at the dealer I would have some backup knowledge to work from.
Anyone know how these units work? Is there a battery inside the TPS units?

The wheel sensors are very much like a key fob, in fact they transmit signals to the very same remote door lock receiver.
The minimum pressure is factory set in the BCM to match the specific OEM wheel/tire configuration.
IIRC the options for the minimum pressure setting are 25, 29, 33 or 37 psi, about 4 or 5 psi below the recommended pressure.
You could have a bad sensor, or you may need to get them to reprogram the minimum pressure for the psi you want to run in your 20's.
Make sure you measure your pressures cold - if you pull over and check them when you see the warning like you said in your
first post, they could be up as much as 3 or 4 psi just from heat.

Thanks for the education. I'm thinking it's a bad sensor. Which one though? It's gonna suck taking all four out of the wheels one at a time and testing them. I know the dealer probably wont do crap anyway, because the are no longer installed on the stock wheels.
PS-Although I did check my pressures at the time of the warning light with warm tires, I have re-checked them twice since then with cold tires and all PSIs are OK.

The machine they use to program the TPS has a digital read out of all the tire pressures like in the 350Z. It will show them which TPS does not have the proper read out in minutes and from there, they can determine if one is faulty.

any updates on this? I 've got aftermarket 20"s and my light recently came on. Checked the tire pressure and everything was good, but the light was still on. Is there any way I can reset it?
