there is a range, you can't compare the autos at the top of the range to the manuals with bad drivers. seems like 6 speed traps range from 97 to 101 and autos range from 93 to 97(not all tracks measure the trap speed in exactly the same spot so you need to weed out the extremes)
my friend ran his mazdaspeed 3 at englishtown and got 13.9s@99-100 then he went down to cecil country dragway the next week and pulled 13.6@103.5
based on all these times it looks like the md plenum spacer is a pretty effective mod, the autos that are near 14.0@99 seem to all have that and exhaust

My exhaust added about 5whp above 5000. The Borla sort of sucks, but I'm sure the spacer helped a little. I have raced 6mt's from a roll, and beat them, but I do also have a rare base model (cloth, no nav, no power seats, 16's, etc.), so mine is a little quicker than most. Obviously there are 6mts that are faster, but there are also plenty that are not. I started with 260hp, so I'll take what I can get... 102,000 miles on the clock isn't doing anyone any favors either.
The track where I ran is horrible. The surface was poor and the track was bumpy. If I go to my regular track one of these weekends I want to say that I can guarantee you a 14.0x run with no correction. We'll have to see about the trap speed.
