How do I fix a body roll issue?
Hey everybody,
I own a 2007 Infiniti G35 Coupe w/ Sports Suspension @ 113,000 miles and still going strong.
Here is the issue I've been having lately and its been driving me nuts ... Everytime I make a turn, my body rolls to the left or right. It has been really bugging me. What is a fix to this?
Also, at 113,000 miles, I'm still on OEM shocks. Could that be the issue? They're not leaking but perhaps they went bad? I've read online that upgrading the sway bars would fix the body roll issue, is that true?
Thank you everybody and kind regards.

You need new shocks. Shocks don't last 113k miles whether they're leaking or not.
You would also do yourself good to replace your lower control arm bushings and compression rod bushings (with polyurethane for best results) and you could even replace your springs, but not necessary quite yet. As far as the sway bars, yes, they help, but not on an unhealthy suspension. It's more of a performance upgrade, not a patch for body roll caused by worn parts.

I had the same issue.
I changed all my suspension items including shocks.
Still didn't help too much.
The biggest help was sway bar end-links.. for front and the back.. they are about $15-$25 each. I couldn't believe those things made that big of a difference. Aftermarket (non-performance) ones are thicker than OEM, and they take about 5 mins a side after you take the wheels off.
Try that..

I'm gonna order my struts and whiteline kit later today.

BECK/ARNLEY for fronts and Moogs for the back.. I did them about 2 months ago.. so can't really comment on longevity.. but I am impressed with the improvement so far...
I was really disappointed in the lack of improvement of replacing my 120k miles OEM shocks

no.. since my car is fully stock, I just bought some mid-level aftermarket replacements.

With the new shocks, I could tell the car would dip less in the back during acceleration. The ride was definitely firmer than stock, which I could definitely tell.. unfortunately it stiffened up like a camaro, not a M3.. (if you've driven both cars, Camaro rides harsh and rough, while M3 rides normal until pushed)
Now with the car swinging side to side during turns, the shocks didn't do much. The sway bar end links, even with the "cheap" ones I used, made a world of difference. Now the car definitely leans much less. Enough for me to drop the tire pressure into "normal" range (36psi to 32psi) for a smoother ride.
I think during a race or auto-x the shocks would show more benefit, but the OP is complaining about "leaning" on normal everyday turns.

KYB shocks will give you a new car ride and feel and the cost won't drain your wallet! If this is something that you just began to feel the KYBs should take care of the body roll you're experiencing. Next step if you intend to play in the twisties w/b fatter sway bars and adjustable endlinks, Grid Power makes the best endlinks...fact!
