Correct.

But, by only cutting the 2 small groves, the **** will sit at the same height as the G **** like the side by size photo I posted above...

Only if you want it to sit lower... that's what I got from his last post.

If you don't care and you like your **** ( ) to be in the same position now, then you don't have to cut anything. Unless I'm reading this wrong.

Is there a safe way to trim the shaft, or can we get M shafts and screw em in or something?

To get the M shaft you would have to get the complete shifter assembly. not sure if it would be a direct swap either...

Ya you are reading it wrong. The M **** grooves wont reach where the grooves are on the G shaft, cause the M **** is shorter. So grooves will have to be cut in order to put the pin in and secure it. I dont know if youve looked at the ****, but it might help to go take it apart so you can see what Im talking about.

You do not have to cut unless you want it lower...

BUT, to have the **** installed correctly so it can not just be pulled up, two little notches would have to be cut into the side of the shifter shaft for the clip to install correctly...

I will photoshop what I mean...

We are talking two really small grooves. It could be done with a pocket knife as the part is plastic. The real question is does the **** look good enough at that height to bother dealing with it.

Ok, I got it now... so if I don't cut the grooves, the thing will just slip out when I pull on it... that would be a bad thing.

But it sucks that the boot doesn't have the same stitching though. That's the selling point on the ****, and I guess that if you already have a black interior, you're basically getting the same boot that you have now.

So... I guess I'll take the **** only and leave my G boot.
