^^^Good luck.

Update on my situation:

I Finally got my G back!

They said I wouldn't have to break it in and just to drive it, beat it and do whatever to it. All my mods were installed too! I just picked it up this morning and so far so good.

One thing is bothering me though, my G coupe with all my mods feels slower than the loaner

ok, so i've been browsing through this really old thread. from what i get i'm basically SOL for not keeping my receipts. i must admit i've been keeping up with the regular maintenance of my car all by myself, but i haven't been storing receipts. car doesn't "eat" oil, but my warranty is up in one year's time...although i've read up on 2nd owner '03-04 owners getting new motors

You are not necessarily SOL. I got my new motor after finding all my lost recepits and providing a quick maintenance log I made in Excel with four columns:

Date/Service/Shop/Mileage

As long as your "receipts" (Quickbooks, etc.) match your maintenance log, some dealerships will accept this. They only need to cover their butt.

ahh, i see. so i took my car in today for a new CD changer since my original bose unit failed. i inquired about the oil consumption test. they wanted me to get an oil change through them ($50) and then it would start. plus, infiniti corporate might ask the dealer to fax over the maintenance record, hence the "receipts" and data log you mentioned. this person added they wanted to see proof of 3mo/3,700mi oil changes lol. although the person did say sometimes they might not ask. i told them i'd have to work on finding all my "receipts" and reschedule an appointment. i did read on the various threads that dealers may ask to get an oil change through them first which i think is a waste of money lol. that and this representative gave me the "infiniti does not recommend the use of synthetic oil" spiel which i expected. job well done with the protocol and ringing up the sales. overall i thought the person did a good job of being courteous at least =P. i'm not sure i'll go through with it. they managed to scratch my side dash panel which i'll have to come back for! lol imagine a new motorset being shoehorned in. i hope my oil situation doesn't get any worse (it's minimal).

infiniti pays for the oil change to start the oc test not you. You may want to point that out to your dealer

^ Yup...it's all in the TSB...warranty charge codes for oil changes and/or topping off.

VQdriver: lol on them stating 3mo/3,700mi oil changes. Schedule 2 in maintenance manual states up to 7500mi under normal op conditions. 3750 is for premium maint shed or under severe op conditions.

My dealer tried to go to that place on Synth...I asked where in the TSB it states I must use Dino and Synth not allowed...lol. In fact where in the owners manual does it say that....yup...no where.

They asked for no records from me. They tried to cheat during the test, but they didn't jack me around to start the test.

Take the TSB in with you and wave it in their face. If they come up with any "rules" ask them to point out where it says that in the TSB.

They'll shut up at that point.

I had the same issue. A good percentage of our cars due have oil consupsion problem.

Infiniti replaced my engine with a new one a couple of months ago. I had 26000 and they determine I needed a new engine due to an oil consuption issue.

I went ahead and had then replaced the clutch while they were doing the work.

I WAS NOT ASKED FOR A RECEIT AT ALL!!!

Unhappy Has my baby lost its mojo?

So yesterday I'm driving my G and decided to step on it and drop it down to second so that the rpms kick up to about 5k rpms. Yeah, I know it's high, but I used to do that all the time with my G before the engine was replaced due to the oil consumption issue.

Check engine light comes on, flashes like a rev light, then goes away. Later it flashes and comes up again and then goes away.

The dealer told me that I did not have to break in my engine. Is that the same for you guys? I am curious because I am driving it like I stole it. He said I could go ahead and I took him literally. "uh, okay . . ."

I took it back to the dealer today to check on it, and then told him that the CEL light came on around 6k rpms and he looked at me all funny. I was like what? It redlines at 7k rpms. I used to shift at round 6,500 rpms when I was really punching it. He told me that he wouldn't record that I shifted at such a high rpm and that he'd check it out.

After waiting for about 30 minutes, he comes back and says everything is okay and to take it easy. He says that if I blow the engine, Infiniti won't cover it due to all the bolt on mods that I have.

This blows, my baby has lost her cajones. I used to pull her hair all the time when I first got her. She used to love to be spanked. I tracked her twice at Willow Springs, I used to know her limits. The idea that this engine is not all its cracked up to be annoys me.

Moreover, is it just me or does it feel like these new engine replacements have less power?
