DIY: Add a sub to your Bose equipped G35 Coupe
I had the same problem, my RCA wires were white and black, my friend told me white was positive and it worked. As far as I can find on the internet: An inner wiretransmits the (+) positive audio signal while an outer braid transmits the (-) negative audio signal.

Thanks all for the help.
I am assuming that there is not a PAC adapter to do this install? When installing my amp and subs to my '01 Maxima with Bose the PAC adapter was fantastic and the sound was better than I was expecting. I am wondering with this particular modification if the sound will be at the same level as using an adapter at the HU?
Whats up.
I got an Eclipse XA4200 powering 4 6.5 Eclipse's in the cabin. The max power rating on the 6.5's are 120. The amp runs at 125 per channel.
When I crank it I get the pop that I dont want to hear.
What gives?
Is this just tweaking the inputs on the amp?
I also have an XA1200 powering 2 Eclipses in a custom box.
So the bass is fine, just the cabin is an issue.
Do I need more powerful speakers in the cabin?
thanks

ok, so I got rid of the eclipse's in the door, and replaced them with infinity references, much better.
Some tweaking of the amp controls, and finally super sound that is quite honestly, too loud.
Do you guys know if the sell bass control *****? and if so, are they universal?
My amp has what looks like a phone input for the control.
Thanks

For those of you with a sedan -- here you go (credit to user 'acr' for this)
This helped greatly.

These wires are found under the rear deck on the driver's side. These are in the blue plug going into the BOSE amp. These are PRE-AMP wires, so you can just splice RCAs into it.
REAR LEFT+ Blue
REAR LEFT- Pink
REAR RIGHT+ Brown
REAR RIGHT- Yellow

Well, I thought I had everything just right -- when I turned the stereo on, I got this incessant whine from the speakers in the rear doors. Everything powers on correctly (amp), but this whine will last for about 10 seconds and then it shuts the radio off. The whine only occurs when the RCAs are plugged into the amp.
Any ideas?
Edit: Could this be an amplifier issue? I have an MTX Thunder 4202 amp. In the user manual, it states the Input as low level and "hi level w/smart engage". The RCA Output is stated as "Full Range Only". Should this read balanced instead?

for the inner vs outer wire, is the inner wire the one that is smooth and the outer wire is the like regular copper wire???
also does anyone have any tips for splicing, I was splicing mine today and man infiniti doesnt give us any extra slack on the wires. I was trying to get some extra wire to create a bridge between the stock wires.

If I was adding one 10" sub, 6.5 components in the front and 6x9's in the rear shelf, with ONE 1x1500W amp.. Is it possible to do that? One pair of speakers power handles 50-100W and the other 50-120W.. so 220 Watts and get a subwoofer around 600W peak.. You think that would work? I have a HiFonics TXi1508D which like I said 1x1500 watt.......... AND STOCK-HU
