DIY: Add a sub to your Bose equipped G35 Coupe
#318
I know it has been said many times in this thread, but this is great information... I really go crazy everytime I listen to my Bose system. I am coming from an SUV with 8 (Polk and Infinity) speakers and 4/1 channel amps (Kicker) along with a Pioneer Premier HU and Rockford Fosgate 12" sub... so you could say there was a sound drop off and it drives me nuts. Funds are tight but I might treat myself to this with my tax refund.

1.)had a question on the Rca split... how would you wire these up? do you have a choices on picking the left or right output?
2.) do you plug the blue harness back in?
3.) what happens if I leave the back speaker plugged in?
sorry about these stupid questions.. honda were easier to install plus cheaper to play with.
Head Output Rear Right + Blue
Head Output Rear Right - Pink
Head Output Rear Left + Teal
Head Output Rear Left - Purple

i have an 08 sedan so it might be different
the rca splits? i'm not sure what you're referring to but i just used my -/+ from the rear speakers and spliced into those for my amp
the blue harness.. i'm assuming you are talking about the autosense.. i spliced into that as well (since i have the bose system which also uses the auto sense)
back speaker.. i don't remember the coupe having a sub so i'm going to assume you're talking about the rear speakers.. i left mine plugged in since i like having sound from all around.. and not just the front.. i did disconnect/remove my bose sub since i needed a port into the cabin and the bose sub is pretty useless after putting in an aftermarket sub
i think most ppl have left their rear speakers connected while a few have disconnected theirs.. i'm not sure how it sounds either way in the coupe..

This DIY shows you how to add RCAs to the stock Bose harness.

refer to the first page, many have wired their rca's that way and have had no problems. for me personally it kept putting my amp into protect mode because it was sending at too high amperage, a simple $20 line out converter solved the problem and it has a dual set of outs for rcas.
