DIY: Add a sub to your Bose equipped G35 Coupe
Hey guys this is my first post. i Just recently bought an 04 coupe.
I followed this thread and did the job myself. At first it seemed a bit difficult but just by taking your time and with the help of this forum i was able to easily tap into the rear deck speakers and into the bose amp for the remote turn on with ease.
SUB: Alpine Type R SWR-T12 in a shallow mount custom box
Amp: Alpine PDX 600.1M bumps hard
Thanks so much!!!

I think they discontinued it, so you might get lucky if someone is selling but still try here
Other than that, search in google for "4080 box enclosure g35"

hey guys first post here got a 2005 g35 coupe nav and bose. Did the DYI instructions were great as i put everything together was thinking to myself that this was going t way to easy, and sure enough i am getting no sound to my subs not sure if the wires did not tap or if my taps were too large any recommendations to some trouble shooting or can i just tap right into the rear deck speakers inside the deck. just wanna know if anyone has done this or have seen this done before i mess with it any more.

I would assume you did what I did when mine was wrong. Double check to see if you're getting music to your rear speakers. If you're not, I think I might know what you're doign wrong.
I'd also like to mention that I'm having trouble myself right now. Just got a new amp, and it's not getting any power... I wired up my old amp by myself and it worked just fine, so I just switched out amps and I really don't know what's going on...
On the old amp, I didn't connect the RemoteOn wire to the PCont. wire on my head unit, I just wired it onto the battery wire on the head unit... That's the only way it'd work, for some reason. So, on the new amp, it's not getting power, so I switched it from the Power wire on the head unit, to the PCont (Power Controller) and it's still a no go. Much, much stress...

Okay; I'll hop on that soon. I know there is a blue/silver wire in the rear going to the OEM amp, but I tried that with my old aftermarket amp and it didn't work. Actually, the remote wire in the head unit didn't work either. The only thing that did work was connecting it straight to the power source wire... It didn't constantly drain power. My new amp is constantly draining power even with the car off if I connect it to a power source. I'll try relocating it to the rear wire and grab some pictures if I don't forget.
Do you have a relay between the amp and battery? Because if your running straight to the battery without a relay, that's why your amp is constantly on. See if you are getting power in the blue/silver wire by a device or reconnecting your BOSE amp to see if your speakers work with the BOSE
I don't, but I had it this way with my old amp and it was fine; I find that odd, but I do understand I need a relay. I just don't really know how to do that...
>___> I'm lazy tonight so I'll play with the oem amp stuff tomorrow... Getting to it is a bitch...

I went and just wired it up to the remote again to test it out of desperation. It worked. >______> It's getting power only when something is being played. Perfect.
Thanks for your help :-D
However, now my subwoofer just won't play. I have a monoblock amp, and there's no bridging involved, so I ran it for 4 ohms:

and it didn't work. Nothing from the sub. Then I ran it at 2 ohms:

And got some results. attempted 4 ohms again, no luck. Back to 2 ohms, and now that won't work neither. Fist meets wall. >:l
