Aftermarket In-Dash Screens + Stock Navigation

I have an '03 sedan with the stock nav system and I was looking to install a second screen to replace my music controls as well to play dvd's and the whole bit. I was wondering if anyone has installed an in-dash monitor in addition to the stock nav and how it all works together.

Any input is greatly appreciated - thanks.

Works the same as a non-nav car, just you'll lose the stock nav voice by switching out the HU.

Yes, but you can buy an adapter to interface with the buttons to make it work....

Where are your a/c controls?? or is that a flip up screen? I think mmassad was referring to a double din. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah I was referring to an in-dash screen, But that is a really nice setup G35_foo. Also, this is for anyone who has an in-dash period, but when watching movies, is it tough for the people sitting in the back to see because of the shifter in front?

it is behind the screen.

nope its not to bad. but if you are worried about back seat passangers. alpine makes touch screen monitors thats pretty cheap. and you can hook up diffeernt aux to it so behind the driver they can watch a movie and behind passenger seat they can play a game.

Tim, you do like your water. . . 400 watts of it.

Has any one seen or heard of someone changing out the stock navigation screen for a touch screen?

I want to replace the stock screen so that I can put another 1 Din in the current location of the DVD-ROM, and control it from the screen, and send the sound back to my Bose using a PA11-NIS2.

I current want to put the Clarion VRX375USB in the Glove box, but I am awaiting an answer from Clarion to see if this unit will take input from another touch screen, in what they call there "Zone 2" which would be in the location of the stock screen.

If not, any one know of a 1 DIN DVD unit that controls iPods via a touch screen. This Clarion is almost perfect.
