You'd have to swap in a unit from the newer cars or go with an aftermarket one that already supports MP3 Playback....
or if you're really pinching your pennies, get one of those little devices that you plug into the tape player which can receive data from a mobile audio device and transform it into something that the tape player can read and play and hook it up to an external I-pod or MP3-Player. It's a pretty unclean way to do it, but that's the most economical way to play MP3's in your car if you already own a handheld I-Pod or MP3-Player.
