Is dynamat in the trunk worth it?

I've done the rear wheel wells and I'm just wondering if it's worth it to do the entire trunk? There is so much material between the trunk and the front passengers, it makes me wonder what difference it will make. I don't have spoiler that can be rattled, so what's the point? If there is a case for sound deadening the trunk on the coupe, which sections would be worth it?

I would wait until after you get your stuff in and then listen for the trouble spots. The coupe is a lot better than the sedan in terms of trunk rattles from a sub.

Have you gotten outside the car and listened to rattles *outside* when the sub is going? I'm hoping some dynamat in the trunk will reduce that some.

I got outside my car a couple of days ago just to actually SEE the trunk move when the bass was thumping pretty hard, and it does move a little, but even a little more on the top part of the rear bumper. I have a coupe w/spoiler, but there wasn't any major "rattles" - mainly just movement vibrations. I have a trunk dynamat kit already, but I have yet to install it - will probably do that soon.

afro, do you have pics of your dynamating the wheel wells?
how exactly did you do that?

that is probably the most important place to dynamat against road noise...

It's the same as what others have done. I just put two layers on the wheel wells and one layer everywhere else. Here is what 6MTHavoc has done:

As far as the wheel wells go in the trunk of the coupe, you can't dynamat the right wheel well in the trunk, only the left one. For the right side, your best bet is just to cover the boxy area around the wheel well, which I think is the fuel pump/system.

Wow, really? Mine makes a ton of buzzing and other assorted noises particularly from the underside of the car. You can't really hear it inside the car. My spoiler doesn't cause problems, though.

afr0puff,

do you see those screws on the side. I opened up those and dynomated the side last weekend. It's a pain but well worth it. I did the rear well just like you. Also i did the rear passenger seat too.

This weekend i will do the trunk. What i really want to finish doing is under the driver and passenger seat. The last portion will be the top where the sunroof is at.
