so what dash kit would i need for a 07 g35 with the pop up nav?

For a coupe the 04-07 jdm kit. You'll have to modify it a little though. For an 07 sedan, you're SOL.

can the metra kit be modified on 03 kit to work with nav if so anyone got directions

You have to trim around the bit where the nav goes:

saw those directions do they apply to the metra kit also for a 03 coupe

See above for where you have to modify the metra one, it still doesn't come out looking perfect, since the front curve of the metra doesn't match the nav, but I don't have the pictures for that handy.

i cut it out fabricate it and paint it to match car anyway

Hey, this thread was very helpful in installing a DD in my friends 05 G35 sedan. I used the metra 70-7550 since he didnt have bose and the radio works fine. I ran into a problem with the metra climate controls.

I used the 95-7605 and only the rear defrost button works. I called metra tech support and they told me there are jumpers on the back that i need to switch around since he doesnt have factory dual zone. I dont have the car with me right now to look at this but i just wanted to ask if this sounds normal or if there is anything online showing me what ill be doing.
