One thing I messed up is the parking brake bypass. I thought grounding the wire would work but it's not enough anymore. Ah well.

Thanks Wrathernaut, I couldn't have done it without your guide and live help.

Take care all.
It can't be grounded at the time the unit is powered on.

Check youtube for videos on how to do the bypass on that unit.

Ran into a problem with my Metra kit on an install I did today on an 03 sedan. The buttons stayed illuminated even after I turned the keys back off (but all controls worked). I unplugged the HVAC controls from the harness, lights went off. Plugged it back in, turned the car back on, and now I have no "night time" lights. My brake lights aren't even lit up for night time operation (although stepping on the brake pedals will light them up.

Any ideas?

Yeah, you used the wrong wire for illumination and blew a fuse.

Yes. I had checked the two easy-to-access fuse boxes; I had forgotten about the one on the firewall.

Thanks for the great guide. Everything works!!

For using the low-level outputs from the headunit. It can use either speaker-level or low-level.

You can do that or use the low-level inputs, I don't think there will be a noticeable difference.

Wrathernaut, how does this unit recommended in another thread, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Infin...fAudioQ5fVideo differ from the one you recommend (
Amazon Amazon
)using for an 04 sedan with Bose? I'm confused, I want the steering wheel controls to still work.....

Those are two entirely different products. One connects an iPod to the factory radio, the other is an adapter for using the Bose amplifier with an aftermarket radio.

I finally got around to installing the PIONEER AVH-P3200BT head unit yesterday, my only real complaints about the unit is you can't completely shut the unit off and the steering wheel controller on radio doesn't go to the next station stored in memory, it just moves up the dial. On the good I like the SD card reader which I have about 900 mp3's stuffed onto it (no more cd's) and the blue tooth worked very well with the cell phone, it imported all my contact and my placement of the mike worked out well.
The PAC ROEM-NIS2 Nissan/Bose Radio Replacement Interface worked very well also, no sound issues with it at all, works perfectly.
The Metra Axxess ASWC universal steering wheel controller gave me the most grief (trying to find out how to wire it up) and to my surprise it worked. I had a hard time leaving all those other wires unused and unaccounted for.
Running the head unit parking brake ground threw a relay to ground works fine and is useful when stopped at lights so I can get into all the menus without having to engaging the parking brake.
I also transferred the dual climate control buttons to the jdm hvac controller and yes it also works.

has anyone else experienced the radio station change issue as theG35due is experiencing? Wrathernaut, does this happen all the time or did he wire something up incorrectly?

The problem is with how Pioneer decided they would take the inputs.

You can (logically) set the up/down to one of two things:

Preset up/down: Changes presets when in radio mode, not sure what it does in iPod/USB/SD/CD mode, but it's not track up/down

Tune up/down: Radio mode - Increments radio freq in when tapped, seeks up/down when held down. iPod/USB/SD/CD mode - track up/down when tapped, fast forward/rewind when held (I think).

It's all Pioneer's fault for not doing what 99% of every other steering wheel control does - track up/down in iPod, and preset up/down when in radio. Unless Pioneer changes this, there's nothing the steering wheel interface manufacturers can do about it.
