(whatever # it is) steering wheel control unit that a originally installed w/ the Kenwood.

Wrathernaut - my Kenwood sounds good using the 70-7551, would you still reccommned the PACROEM-NIS2? by looking at the pictures of it, it doesn't appear to have RCAs to plug into the HU, or am I missing something?

Thanks.
No lag noticed. I forgot to mention that in addition to the annoyance of the up and down selector buttons on the steering wheel just moving up or down the radio dial instead of going to your next pre-selected stations is that the on/off button on the steering wheel will probably not work either. Both are a minor annoyance with the head units and I agree it would be nice if Pioneer would offer an update to the firmware to fix these problems.

You can map the "PWR" button to whatever you want, however, Pioneer units don't support any sort of power command through steering wheel remote buttons.

I mapped the PWR button to mute, seemed the closest thing.

Yes, it can, you have to shave some of the edges to make it fit.

And here's the photo CFernando sent me, showing where the Metra kit had to be cut (on both sides) in order to make it work.

Here's the fit of the JDM:

From what the guy who did it said, all that was required was trimming some of those areas so it could slide up and down smoothly.

The fitment still wasn't great though, as the curve on the metra isn't exactly the same.

I have an 07 coupe with Bose (no nav).

I ordered the Kenwood DNX6960 (I like the fact that they use Garmin technology). I bought the JDM trim for the 07 and the AC controller.

I also purcased:
Metra 40-NI10 Nissan Antnna Adapter
PAC SWIJACK Steering Wheel Remote Interface
Metra 70-7551 Amplifier Integration Harness

The Harness is where I have the question. I plan on keeping the Bose amp for now. If I do add an amp, it will probably just be for a sub. With this plan in mind, should I have gotten the PAC ROEMNIS2 or the Metra 70-7550?

Thanks for the help.

If you're keeping the bose amp powering anything, you should use the ROEM-NIS2.

Not that I can tell. I think it's just a different manufacturer.

Ah, the U310BT. Fast and responsive unit with decent iPod interface and a detachable faceplate.

Good for navigation if you have an address. Its POI database is PATHETIC without the ~$100 add-on POI card though.
