Thanks Scorpio. I did connect it to the reverse light on the head unit. I'm having trouble finding what color the power and negative wires are for the reverse light. I have a 2006 G35 sedan. I think yellow is power and black is ground but I'd like to be certain.
U found the reverse signal wire to tell the stereo to switch to camera when u shift to reverse.
Now youre looking for the positive and ground wires to supply power to the camera....correct?
Yes, the power and ground wires that plug into the reverse light in the back of the vehicle.
If you have an aftermarket amplifier in the trunk, u can use the remote wire and negative terminal to power the camera.
Thats how I did it on mine because my stereo gives me the option to view the camera even when I'm not in reverse. So I had to give it constant power as long as my stereo was on.
But if you have no need for that, then just tap into your reverse light wires.
Gotcha. If I already have power to the camera is it required to tap into the reverse light? I have power because i can manually turn it on but i dont think its connected to the orange wire behind the kick panel because it doesnt go to the camera when i put it in reverse.
If you already have power to the camera, no u dont need to tap into the reverse light.
The "reverse signal" wire behind the stereo needs to be connected to the Orange wire behind the kickpanel. That will tell the stereo to automatically switch to camera mode when u shift into reverse.
Hey guys, new G35 owner here. Im about to do my double din install and I just purchased a JDM frame from Ebay.
Im a little confused as to what I need as there seems like theres a lot of variables. i dont have a bose upgraded system so
not sure what I would need and not. Can someone point me in the right direction. Thanks
What I did was search on clutchfield.com. Once I entered my vehicle information I opted to add all the wiring, etc. That should give you everything needed to connect an aftermarket headunit.
As title states.. I feel I can trim some excess wiring from the wiring harness that came from the included Scosche wiring harness
. . Any clue as to what is needed and what is not. Should I splice in the wires coming from the SWC module and get rid of the rest of the redundant harness

There's no real shortage of space back there, so no real reason to remove any part.
