Stock O2 sensors are narrow band.

Actually he has a 07 so his upsteam are air fuel sensors (wideband) BUT any wideband gauge you buy will come with a sensor. And if you actually want to know your A/F ratio, get a wideband. If you want a little scrolling light that tells you nothing get a $70 narrowband gauge.

I am looking into a/f gauges. I have a 2003 but since i have berk hfc would I just be able to put the wideband sensor in the wideband bung and leave the stock ones where they are? does it matter which cat I put the sensor on?

Typically the driverside will read a tad leaner, and yes you need a wideband gauge.

"would I just be able to put the wideband sensor in the wideband bung and leave the stock ones where they are?" --> Yes.

"does it matter which cat I put the sensor on?" --> Put it on the driver's side (slightly leaner) if you are only going to monitor one side.

Thanks. would it be a better idea to monitor both sides? the gauges work with either 1 or 2 sensors?
