Has anyone had any problems with their mics? Alot of people have been telling me it sounds like my windows are down when I talk to them on it. And I have tried mounting it a couple different ways. Right now its above the rear view mirror (without the mount). But I called pioneer and they said it may be defective, does anybody else have this problem?

Thanks all

I had some issues before with Pioneer microphones, I've been using the Garmin 010-10804-00 external microphone. No complaints yet, mounted like this:

Since they dropped the price of the 8400 substantially, it's a lot better unit.

Use the Metra Axxess ASWC, not the PAC SWI-PS. The SWI-PS requires you to solder resistors and must be programmed. The ASWC, on the other hand doesn't need resistors soldered in, and for most units, does not need to be programmed. They're close enough to the same price to be the same, and if you figure minimum wage for your time spent soldering and programming the ASWC definitely comes out on top.

Also, no need for the TR7 with this unit, the video for the rear seats works without it, and there's no reason to have video playing that you, as the driver, can see while the vehicle is in motion. On GPS units, I'd say yeah, go ahead and bypass so your passenger can input destinations while you drive, but there's no reason to do this just for video.

but ive read that you lose some of the functionality of it unless you bypass. Such as no appmode or anything is available.

Just don't use it to watch videos, it's illegal and stupid.

I'm a n00b here on the forums, and just picked up a 2007 g35x w/ bluetooth no van Wednesday. So far I love the car. I was thinking of replacing my factory unit with one of these Pioneers, but wanted to see pics of a sedan with it installed. Anyone have any? I know the interior is a little different than the coupe.

Thanks

If you have a 2007 g35 SEDAN, you're in the wrong forum.
Go here: https://g35driver.com/forums/v36-aud...ectronics-375/

You can't replace the factory unit as far as I know, it's too tied in with other systems, but if you get creative with some custom work, you can add a second headunit in a glovebox, center console or elsewhere.

I'm planning on changing the bose amp when I install the 8400 and a friend gave me his amp that he had on his Honda. The SPX Pro Audio Amplifier does anybody know if this amp a better choice then the stock bose amp on the 06 coupe. Sorry for the noob question.

This is the amp.

Same as the identical post elsewhere.

Anything's better than the bose amp, but the amp you've got only will power two speakers.

Yes. Tap the wires from the mic as they go to the factory bluetooth module.
