caution reverse message won't go away

I tapped in the reverse wire at the tail lights. Camera goes on in reverse and off in gear but theres a caution message that stays on no matter what i do unless i shut the camera from the pioneer hu. I tried changing polarity, i tried unplugging the hu and reset it. Same thing.

You mean on all the time when the camera's on? That's part of the design.

So it's displaying that on the radio screen? Maybe a short video would help describe the situation better.

This message is always on . No matter if i watch a dvd or listen to the radio or aux. Its dont go off unless i shut the camera from the head unit. No matter if thr parking brake is on or off, lights on or off. I don't get whats triggers it

That's so weird. I only get that on mine when the camera is on. it's like its detecting the camera but there's no video coming in.

Where did u pick up the reverse feed? I cut into the wire straight at the tail light.

Mine isn't installed in my G but essentially the same for my tiguan and mustang and the G would be the similar.

My camera is actually powered all the time. So power and ground terminates at the head unit(I'm using the accessory wire to power the camera as well). In the mustang, I had to run a wire from the head unit back to the taillights and use the reverse light bulb as a trigger. In the tiguan, it uses canbus so the metra harness had a reverse trigger wire and I just had to connect that to my reverse gear wire on the head unit.

The same camera on the same head unit.

Only thing i can think of is that the wire i tapped into at the tail light isnt 12 v, i used a test light but il check with a meter. Something tells me it has to do with the leds
