hey, been reading lots on here about the dls up6 components.
are they 2 ohms? from what i could see they are not but i could be wrong.
if this is a great way to just replace jsut the speakers without replacing the amp shouldnt it be 2 ohms to be compatable with the bose amp?
thanks

no they are not 2 ohms and the Boss amp does not have enough output to properly power them. DLS UP6 (and any equivalent component set) requires an aftermarket amp to properly power them and thus obtain the proper sound quality.

hmm...interesting. i just must have read all the other posts without realizing everyone was replacing the amp also. i had thought they were so great because it was a direct replacement without having to do much of anything else to the system.
thanks for the info.

I'm sure you've read other posts recently, but you can try these:

These are great speakers that are 2ohm. If you ever want to upgrade to an amp, you would have a great foundation. These are very high end speakers that are on sale right now for $350 w/free shipping at cardomain.

When I first picked up Rainbow, I couldnt sell it to some people because the name "sounds gay".

How do you like the Rainbows?

The Profis and Profi Vandiums are definately upper tier, but when their not available, its extremely hartd to sell them.
I had them in the car for a couple of weeks with the Bose amp (before replacing the amp). I'm pretty confident I could pick out the DLS from the Bose speakers
, it was a significant change - for the better. No argument that better sound quality can be obtained from replacing the amp (also easy to hear). What are the downsides of replacing a 2 ohm speaker with a 4 ohm speaker long-term? Any potential for damage to the Bose amp (what a shame....)?
