Re: How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?

I am not going to quote a final price until we start sellling the modules. We have made several major design changes to the units since the first successful installation, which has raised our cost considerably. As of right now though, I don't see any changes to the current design so I would estimate that price to be extremely close to what we will charge.

Sorry for all the waiting!!!!

It's tough trying to read through this whole post but I think I saw where you said that the roll-up feature will be geared to two lock clicks. I had the dealer install an after-market alarm and remote start and it uses two lock clicks to start the car. Will this be configurable? Also, I think I saw something about about a possible right mirror tilt when in reverse. Do you think this will happen? I had it on my last car and it's awesome and definitely needed since the 18" rims are so fragile.

Hmmm....

A better suggustion - See if you can have your dealership switch over thier remote start to your unlock wire. That way when you UNLOCK the car it would start, and when you LOCK the car it will put the windows up. The only major problem with that is priority door lock - say you want to unlock your doors only you might actually start the car too. I have no experiance with the type of remote start system you are working with though, so I'm not sure how feasable it would be.

A passenger mirror mod is on the table, but I'm not sure if it will ever be bult and distributed. There is no source of feedback from the mirror so it would have to be controlled by timing, and I don't think many people would go for that! I might make a universal DIY kit and let the people who really want it figure it out themselves...

1/2 the reason that this thread is so long is because people like to ask "is it ready yet? when can I buy one?" like every other day... (I'm not pointing any fingers but SportCoupe35 comes to mind)

anyway, aren't you guys glad that we are doing thorough testing to make sure the product is 100% ready? never rush a guy making mods for your car.

Re: How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?

As always, the mod is progressing. I loaded a bunch of diagnostic code into the processor over the weekend and modified my board to provide feedback. I am still have occasional issues with one window up and one down. When the problem was first found it happened about 90% of the time, I've got it down to less then 10% now. This is the last bug that needs to be ironed out. The VDC mods are ready to go (as far as code and hardware) but we have decided to hold them back so we can release them both at the same time. I'm finally done working in Philly and should have some free time this week to fix this problem. I'll keep you all updated.

Kevin-- If you were having problems with control of two windows, is there any reason to think that controlling four windows on the sedan will have similar or expanded problems? Did you ever get a good sedan beta-tester?

Re: How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?

Noremac,

I can't answer that question until I figure out why there is a problem. As far as I can tell right now when one window reaches the top of its run it causes a voltage drop to the system. At first I figured this 'spike' was disrupting my circuit, but I found out last night that it isn't a voltage problem. My next avenue to explore is the part of the circuit that monitors the door lock pulses. I am now thinking that when the voltage dips a little it might make my circuit think that there was another door lock pulse, thus freezing the windows where they are. Stupid girls and stupid work or I would be in my driveway right now tearing things apart! (and freezing cuz I live in Ohio)

I never found a sedan beta tester. I never looked too hard becuase I have a coupe! hehe. Anyone interetested? I should be in the Dayton, Columbus, Indianapolis area for the next two weeks.

Re: How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?

When I say I haven't found a BETA sedan to test with I meant I haven't found one local for me to work on. I sent my module to I think two people with sedans and I'm still waiting to hear back from them...

Re: How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?

I FOUND the bug! It was a small software glitch that made the processor 'think' that the ignition was turned on (ocasionally) when either one or both windows were all the way up. I fixed the glitch and tested it out for quite a while and not a single hang up!

So....

This saturday, May 8th, I am looking for some more BETA testers. I want the testers to come to my house in Dayton and have units installed by me. I think I can get at least two Zs from my350Z.com to come from Cincy. So, if you are in dayton, cbus, or anywhere else and don't mind driving let me know via PM. It will also be fun to show off other mods!!!

Thanks,

Kevin
