How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?
Re: How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?
The chip is a microcontroller, meaning it has software that I wrote on it. I will download the code to the chip and then it is up to you to build a board for it. It took me about two hours to to solder up the prototype board. So, I guess it comes down to how important your own time is!!!!

I'm not sure about the sedan, I own a coupe. If there is someone with a sedan who would like to expirament with it let me know. I'll look into my shop manual and see if I can find out info about the coupe.

Re: How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?
how can we dissable the auto locking feature? did you put a switch on the boared or are we still cuttin the jumper. either way it doesnt matter to me just dont really want the auto lock as of right now maybe in the future. so would we be able the turn the auto lock back on if we cut the jumper by reconnecting it?
also how do you want the money sent to you paypale, check, money order?

...ya lost me on this one. Were you trying to solicit volunteers for experimenting on the sedan?

I'm just saying I don't have a sedan, so I cannot test it. If someone has a sedan and is willing to test something like this then I would like to speak with them. I reviewed my shop manual for the sedan briefly and it looks like a very similar setup, so it should work without a problem. The wires you need are:
Power
Ground
Door lock motor lock wire
Ign power
Door lock switch lock wire
All of these wires are found in the door.

Re: How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?
You can disable the auto-locking feature by turning the ignition on, waiting for it to lock (6 seconds) and then within 6 more seconds press the "LOCK" button three times. The next time you turn the ignition on the doors will not lock. To turn them back on turn the ignition on and within 6 seconds hit the lock button three times. The next time you turn the ignition on the doors will lock. Pretty easy, and no need to take the door panel off or anything.
LIST OF FEATURES:
Ignition controlled door locks - Six seconds after ignition is turned on both doors will lock
Roll windows up via factory remote - Pushing "LOCK" button twice within 1 second will cause a pulse that will last about 7 seconds, long enough to roll the windows completely up. There is a factory limit switch inside the window regulater so a 7 second pulse with the windows completely up already will not damage anything.
THINGS THAT ARE NOT INCLUDED:
Ignition controled UNLOCKING - You do not need the doors to be unlocked to open them, so this feature is unecessary. Also, there is no signal inside the door that changes when you switch the ignition off due to the RAP (retained accessory power) system.
Windows down via factory remote - Someone had asked to push the "UNLOCK" button three times and put down the windows all the way. Due to the fact that you can just hold the unlock button down for a few seconds I felt this feature was unecessary. Lots less code, less hardware, and less in-vehicle connections are needed this way.
Sunroof control - Controlling the sunroof from inside the door is impossible, so not included. I may look into another module for sunroof control, but I doubt it! The fact that the closed button is also the tilt button makes this a very difficult task.
On another note....
I think my next project will be adding a memory to the VDC button.... I don't want to change the topic of this conversation but who thinks this would be a good idea??? (By memory I mean if you shut VDC off the next time you start the car it will turn off automatically. The button will continue to work as it did from the factory, it will just be a lot smarter!!!!
PayPal will be the preferred method of payment, but, lets not get ahead of ourselves, I need to have the boards made and delivered first!!!
Thank you all for your interest in this project,
Kevin

Re: How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?
Kevin,
Thanks for all the good work. There are a couple of points to keep in mind:
First, on the sedan, the doors will NOT open if they are locked. So it would be very preferable to have your unlock function working. The good news is that the retained accessory power can be turned OFF in the BCM control (Consult II required). You mentioned that your module requires ignition power - does this imply that the unlock function is "ready" to work if this connection provides a correct indication of ignition on/off?

Re: How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?
hmmm..... I was unaware of that fact. I actually had all the code written and deleted it due to the fact that it wasn't needed. I can rewrite the code and offer a sedan version with unlocking, but, like you said you will have to have your RAP turned off by the dealer
Such is life I guess,

Re: How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?
It would be a circuit almost identical to the one used for the window roll up, but, modified to work with the switch and a completely different program. Also, about half of the components, so I would say they would the VDC memory add-on would sell for about $30 a piece... The main advantage is that this will not use the expensive timer switch that the others I have seen use. And, I havn't seen one that adds true memory to the switch, just ones that shut it off every time you start the car. Although I havn't looked too much into it....

Great! You coupe owners are fortunate that your locked doors open with just the regular handle. I really dislike that the sedan doors require the door to be unlocked. But since I have yet to find the RAP useful, it can be done-away with! So the next question is: Will your restored unlock function toggle on/off at the same time as the lock function? (I think this would be useful.)
