so you're saying it's comparing apples to oranges? how is the TSX output not comparable? is it because the 06 is bi-xenon and the TSX isn't?

but aside from the output difference, u think it's just worthwhile to just buy an 06 and make the color mods rather than fabricating, laboring, and stressing weeks and weeks over retrofitting?

i guess the TSX color and output is a different caliber than the 06. there's much more people doing the TSX mod rather than using infiniti projectors tho =/

the TSX is common because it has sufficient color without modding, but its performance width wise is not exceptional. The color mod still requires the clear lens from the TSX but in the long run it's much better.

sounds good, i guess i'll save myself the trouble and buy a set of 06/07 and mod the cutoff shield and lense.

is it possible just to buy the lense and not the whole projector itself on hidplanet?

You might be able to put your lenses in and try to re-sell them.

You can sell them as replacements for the 06+ model TSXs with fresnel lens. But I'd imagine you need to calibrate the output before you sell them.

tsx lens swap

IvoryGT

I did swaped the tsx lens into the 06 housing but I couldn't get the cut off the lever. one side is straight and one side is slanted ( --- and \ ) another thing is the tsx outer diamater lens is a tat smaller so it moves around a bit. and yes I did tighten it down but i dont know if its center or not. could this is why my cut off is crooked. and no I did not touch the mounting adj. screws when i did the swap. I will open it up again to do the color moded and check on that later on this week cause right now i have kinda yellowish color for the cut off. Any info. on this will help. And what do I do to the sheild to get the blue purple out put. Thanks in advance man.

With just a lens swap, the color won't show. You will need to remove the Metal spacer and adjust the cutoff shield so it's straight, as well as the recent update I did with the shield modding, it's essential to bi-xenon function.

tsx lens swap

so you are saying
1. dremel out the upper part of the housing allowing more light pass though.
- this is easy
2. remove the " metal guide " on the cut off sheild
- have to look for it
3. remove the " metal spacer " between the two half.
- have to look for it
4. compressing the metal spring on the shield.
- this i know
5. adjusting the sheild around.

After all that I will have the purple color across the band.
Will the light be any brighter ( which bulbs are you using in those pic )
How do you get the lens to center on the housing ? I was thinking of get some of those rubber o-ring @ my job ( which stand up to 300 C ) to shim it so it wont move and stay in the center.

Metal Guide and Spacer is referring to the same piece.

Holding the lens in place with the stock lens holder and twist it so it will tighten. If you use the O-ring it will space out the lens and create different optics. Now how thick is the material? I could use some of that for other projects or even this one to create the color cutoff. I would buy some off of you. Let me know how they are, maybe pictures.

o-ring

I was talking about put the o-ring outside the len between the holder and len.
May be I will try it on the inside also to see what kind of color and cut off i may get from install it on the inside.

I do have some @ home and they are about 3mm by 2 1/8 " ( if you hold your car key side way and look at it. that how thick it will be. ) I don't know if they will screchs or not but I just try to burn it with a lighter for 5 sec. and nothing happened to it. I will try to expane it with a 3" cup over night and see what happen. but i doubt it will cause this stuff are made to mantain it shape and size under high pressure and temperature. but will let you know.
