3mm sounds good. The spacer needs to be able to fit just around the area of the holder and no interfere with the lens.

06 projector

IvoryGT- I did some test last night with the 06 projector.
1- i did swap the lens to a old MDX lens ( the one with ripples )
2- I did use the same o-ring that I send you to space out the len
(note the o-ring is not big enough so I cut it and then cut another
short piece to add in the gap. This added piece have to be longer than
the gap to put some tenson to hold the oring onto the grove.)
3- i also used another smaller and thiner oring on the base of the bulb to give
it some more space.

The result is very good overall.
1. the lens swap give me the clean cut off same as the TSX.
2. The spacing of the lens give me blue color above the cutoff.
3. The spacing of the bulb give me more light out put to the ground ( you
know the area in the middle of the light in front off your car) and clearer
cut off.
Will do some more testing later on tonight. Can anyone show me how to put some pic on here ???

Updated. Ive done this about 4 times. The bi-xenon works perfectly and the color remains. The spacer is NOT applicable in this mod as it distorts the focal point much different than other projectors (M45 projectors does the same thing).

What thickness spacer were you using and was it on an otherwise stock projector?

it was about 3 mm. the focal point for this projector is just not between the lens and the shield. If you insist in using a spacer. I suggest also space out the bulb. to achieve the color and right cutoff.

I started playing around with mine and I got something like this:

This was only at a distance of ~12ft using the stock 4200k 85122+ bulbs that haven't colorshifted yet, and shot onto an creme colored background. The rainbow pattern makes for some really colorful flicker patterns, and the camera doesn't capture the dark purple of the cutoff too well, the cutoff is a good 2-3" in width @ 12ft. Heres a video of the flicker from the projector

that's very nice. did you do it with a spacer or what did you do. Because the band looks very uniform across. But the rainbow up top is a source of loss light to me. Though it is pretty.

No spacer, I just followed your steps. I couldn't get rid of the rainbow no matter what I did. My lense is also kind loose inside the holder, the diameter is slightly smaller than stock, what did you do to stop it from moving?
