Mine is not quite as clean of a cut-off but there is more color. I want color like those you posted above.

color is a correlation with sharpness. If you want more color there are a few things you can do, either Push the shield towards the bowl or remove the black plastic stop on the cutoff shield.

I did remove the black stop to get the color I have. Is it possible to bend just the sides of the shield to get more color on the sides?

Yes..but you need to experiment a little bit at a time.

I know I might be late on this but did you manage to snap a few shots of the foreground lighting with the mod? I'm a retrofitter from hidplanet.com and the clublexus board and I'd like to see what the foreground looks like since this is an upcoming project I'm taking on in the near future. Thanks so much for you help!

without the spacer you need to worry about the rotation. I do all current mods with the spacer modified. Clears alot of headaches.

as for the foreground, I dont take the foreground guard out either...so it's stock foreground shape but with slight more intensity.

thanks for the update. I actually put the spacer back in but didn't modify it. I bent the shield so it would give me the color but the cut off isn't as sharp as I would have liked. oh well.. it's a headache for me and I just want everything back together.

props for doing this for people. i would go crazy.

I just did my set of lamps yesterday as well but the sides kinda taper down a little bit and aren't flat anymore like it was before I bent the shield. I'll snap a few shots when I get home from work. You said use a spacer Ivory? Maybe I missed it but where would you place the spacer and how does it effect the beam pattern with these? I can see with the TSX projector for example how the spacer would effect the desired outcome but what about this style projector?

the reason why it tapers down is because the shield is bent upwards and the shape of the cutoff causes the two sides to down slope.

what you can do is bent the shield so slightly so it appears more of a SEMI-Circle this way it will be more straight.

and the spacer is already in, previously I had modified by taking the spacer out (the silver piece) but this had caused vibration problems.
