One of the earlier posts made in this thread mentioned physically bending the part of the spacer holding the shield down.

If you say you only need raise the shield ~1mm, it would seem like this solution should be possible, assuming you have a way to apply enough force to bend the spacer. That way i wouldnt have to cut anything up lol

Did you ever try this, redlude?

there are 4 dimensions to the shield up down and tilt forward or backwards.

The up down determines how much color is at the cutoff where the tilt is only whether or not its sharp, which you have to determine by aiming and adjust at 25' away. Ultimately you need to keep testing.

And no you won't get color on the whole cutoff by just bending the spacer.

I modified my spacer by bending it rather than cutting it. If I had to do it all over, I would just cut it.It is very hard to get the cutoff straight by bending the spacer, I wasted countless hours trying to perfect it, and once you bend it, there is no getting it straight again

K. Here it goes. Vis and i got together today to try and experiment with Ivory's color mod. We tried following the steps as close as possible, but ended up making our own way to bend the cutoff shield, because we were not able to get the same cutoff line as shown in the previous pictures. We modified the spacer the same though. We were able to get the color across the cutoff line to range from really thick color, to almost none. The pictures are taken with the projector at about 21' away from the wall, and the camera in between. We powered the lights with a computer power supply that was picked up from a local computer shop for $10. It has the power button built on to it for easy use.

hard to tell but it appears to be bowing up on both ends. That is also a lot of color at that distance. I would suggest backing off of the color modding a bit at that distance so at further distances you still have some sharpness

it is bowing up on both ends. its weird. there is a straight horizontal band of color that remains horizontal as well as that bow'd part on both sides. tilting the shield forward increases the sharpness and decreases the amount of vertical displacement of the bow but the bow still exists even with a very very thin color line at the cutoff.

to get rid of the bowing. You need to either straighten out the cutoff until its flat, then space the lens out accordingly. if the lens is as far in as need be, then first curve the shield more so it appears to be a semi-circle, then push the shield back to get the sharpness and color.

You guys want some great advice? Send your headlamps into Paul (IvoryGT), and let him do the work. My headlights are absolutely incredible and I couldn't have been happier with his customer service.

damn that sucks... because I accidentally forgot to put the guide back on before I seal the headlight.
So my cut off will bounce up and down constantly or also side to side?
