I'm doing this mod right now, and I'm not entirely sure what lens I have. When I looked at the pic of the unmodded with tsx lens, the cutoff was sharp but there was no color. My lens has the cut off being sharp as well, but there's quite a bit of color in the middle. As for the shield and spacer, once you open up the projector it pretty much becomes obvious. There are pics of it on the first page in the actual DIY. The shield is the small metal piece that you bend and the spacer is the metal guide piece you cut to allow the shield to sit higher.

i dont care about color...all i care about is a sharp cutoff and stock or better light output.....would just replacing the stock lens with the clear TSX lens do this?

I just did this over the weekend. I'd say it's one of the best form/function mods. I never realized how sucky the non-clear lens and the dual cutoffs are. It's not too difficult. I was hesitant at first because "baking your headlights" sound scary haha.

Finally did these.
Keep in mind this was taken with iphone so the cutoff got extremely distorted, it's crisp in person.

yeah most likely thats is because of the oem lens, they have all those grooves in em that i would imagine are distorting that light. You can get them at retrofitsource.com theres where i got mine. They are $70

did you just swap out the clear lenses, or did you do the cutoff and color mod as well?

im too nervous to baking my lights and everything

*edit* just realized from the first post that since i have the '06 headlights that i dont have the bake the headlights to get the projectors out. makes things a lot easier and more likely that ill swap out for the clear lenses. still iffy on doing the cutoff/color mod.

The reason why your cutoff "flairs" is because its actually rotationally off. This is the reason for the recall on the 06s. If you are going to change out the lens, make sure you adjust the rotation of the shield to line up with horizon.
