Just wondering though.. is the side of the uneven dropped determined by whichever spring you put on which side in the rears? Or will it usualy always be on the passenger side?

 

So i have z h-tech springs and today my friend helped me cut my spring mount. Man it was actually pretty tough to cut it, especially to make it even. Honestly the cut doesnt look great at all and its pretty uneven, but after mounting it on and everything, everything is fine.
I cut about .5 inch on both sides, now the passenger rears looks great but the driver side is still a little higher lol.

The drop looks even better but honestly the uneveness bothers me :/

 

Well you'd better wait before you take it off to cut again. You know what people say about waiting for stuff to settle.

 

I installed Tein Htechs a month ago. The rear didnt drop as much as the front. From the rim edge to fender its LF 3 3/8", RF 3 4.5/8", LR 4.5", RR 4.5". So I want to drop about another 1" in the rear. Obviously the 'springmount mod' would be the cheapest. But in a slight hijack, if I got just rear stechs, would that accomplish this as well?

 

I did my spring mount mod recently...gotta say, i cant seem to get the left rear and the right rear even no matter how much more i cut on the right side...i noticed an uneven bounce now on the road...i hope that with an alignment it will correct that...

 

I read through the first 8 pages seems like everyone who has done this has had h-tech.. My sedan has 350z s-tech.. And I want lower I'm thinking about doing this... I'm just wondering if it will look funky cause my rear my be lower than my front.. Seems like everyone so far is opposite of me and their front was lower so they did this... I'm debating on this...

 

is it acceptable to just cut the passenger side 1/4 to 1/2 inch to even out the drop? car sits higher on pass side. and did even before the springs

am running unrevised 350z's on sedan with sport shocks.

Not 'necessary', but it'd be desired because it will throw off your alignment just as much as if you were to lower it any other way.

 

so from reading up on this..are u suppose to cut more on the passenger mount and less on the driver..i was gonna do a 3/4" cut..but i wanna make sure it's an even drop on both rears...what's the verdict???

 

how the hell did you guys remove the spring? I used my floor mount to compress the spring to undo the bolt, but after fully de-compressing it I cannot get it free. Well that's not entirely true, I used one of these http://www.mopedarmy.com/mediawiki/i...Compressor.jpg to hold the spring when it was compressed, but it just barely squeezed free, but then fearing the worse I spent the next couple of hours getting the spring back into place for fear of causing any permanent damage with how poorly things were developing.

I'm on Swift G35 springs if that matters at all, I wonder if their design nature makes them taller or less likely to compress versus other springs?

 

Try loosening the bolt on the spring bucket. u should.be able to drop the bucket and easily pull the spring out.

 

I dropped the bucket, could barely squeeze it out without damaging stuff, I wonder if my toe bolt was creating extra resistance?

 

I will do this mod when I get my front camber kit put on and then end to the alignment shop. A+ on the DIY post
