I just saw couple shots of your ride from another thread. My car levels just like yours and I did the same 0.5" springmount mod as well. I guess the sagging problem I been talking about lately is only related to my tires, not that I cut too much on the springmount.

Does most everyones Z H-Techs sit higher on the passenger side (both front and rear)? So by cutting the springmount 1/2 inch it should even out each side but you will not get an all around even drop right? Is that what people noticed?

Thanks

I had that experience before. Later it turns out that the car was not sitting on a even surface when I measured it.

My Z H-Techs are higher on the passenger side than the driver side and are higher in the rear than in the front.

Quite a few people have uneven drops side to side with the h-techs, as well as many other springs. I would recommend cutting the passenger side springmount 1/8" more than the driver side springmount in addition to any amount you cut off both sides to even it front to rear

Hey guys. Recently did the Spring Mount Mod with Jon (ThinkDiesel)

Anyways... I've run into an issue with the gap on the front of my car to that of the rear of my car. I did the measurements from the rim lip the the edge of the the fender on both sides and determined I needed to cut approximately 1/2 inch in the rears on both sides. I actually went conservative and cut off less than that (0.4 inch).

My driver's side rear looks like it sits lower than my driver's front (did the finger between tire and fender trick and confirmed that rear driver's side was lower than front driver's side), but when I measure rim lip to fender on the driver's side, the front has less gap (2.25"). The rear driver's side has a 2.4" gap.

I am running 245/35/19 Nitto NeoGens in the front and 275/35/19 Kuhmo SPTs in the rear. The sidewalls for the SPTs look more straight, while the NeoGens are more rounded. Could running two different brands be the reason why the rear seems to have less finger gap between tire and fender, even though the measure from rim lip to fender says otherwise?

Please help me out guys.

I am thinking of buying new rear spring mounts and cutting them, but if its just due to having mismatched tires, I will leave it as is.

Thanks!

35% of 275 >> 35% of 245

sidewall is taller in rear. Same issue i got, but the mod evens the look out.

That's what I finally came up with as well. Do a lot of people have this issue?

Do you guys recommend installing another modified spring mount for that side or do you think going to a 30 profile will help?

How do your mods even things out? meaning its heavy in the front and somehow makes it look even?

i'm not really following your issue. The goal of the springmount mod is the even out the gap above the tire, just like stock. The distance from the rim to the fender SHOULD be different from the front to the rear due to the staggered tire sizing. If you make that distance the same, then you will tuck the rear tires while the fronts still have wheel gap

I understand the goal of the springmount mod. Maybe the way I measured the gap was incorrect. I assumed the more accurate way was to measure from rim to fender.

So the accurate way to measure what to cut would be tire to fender? I guess I will need to buy one new spring mount on my driver's side and recut it then, since my rear drivers side gap is less than my front.

I have Z Stechs and oem 19s as well. I cut .5 on the passenger side and .3 on the driver side.
